| The experiential teaching approach is characterized by its experiential and subjective nature,which is different from traditional teaching methods.It allows students to "learn by doing" and learn knowledge in the process of experience.Students can not only construct their own knowledge system in the process of cultural experience,but also form an understanding of different cultures in the process of cultural reflection.During the internship,the author found that the Spring Festival culture activities conducted by the Confucius Institute at Edge Hill University were not only large in scale,but also long in duration,which were very popular among primary and middle school students.It can be seen that cultural activities during the Spring Festival occupy an important position in international Chinese education,so it is necessary to choose the right teaching method to ensure that cultural activities run smoothly.According to the learning characteristics and cognitive style of primary and secondary schools in the UK,the author applies experiential teaching method to the cultural course of the Spring Festival cultural activities,hoping to attract students’ interest and let them feel the Chinese Spring Festival culture in the experience.Based on relevant theories of experiential teaching and combined with the author’s internship experience in the Confucius Institute at Edge Hill University,this paper adopts the methods of literature research,peer evaluation,classroom observation and case analysis to study the application of experiential teaching method in the Spring Festival cultural activities of Edge Hill University,sorts out and analyzes the existing problems.Through the analysis,it is concluded that the experiential teaching method is suitable for the Chinese New Year cultural activities held by Confucius Institute at Edge Hill university.The teaching method not only conforms to the learning style of the local students,but also arouses the enthusiasm of the student.It is hoped that the analysis of this case can provide some substantive suggestions for the cultural teaching of Confucius Institute of Edge Hill University,so as to further improve the teaching quality of cultural activities of Confucius Institute of Edge Hill University and provide some practical references for the teaching of overseas cultural courses. |
