In the history of Chinese modern and contemporary literature,Ding Ling and her writings are special existences.With her bold and distinct personality and varied style,Ding Ling has left a strong mark in the history of Chinese modern and contemporary literature.Benefiting from the long-term experience of urban life,Ding Ling has left a large number of words describing the city in her novels,showing the multi-dimensional urban space.This is a valuable asset for the study of Ding Ling and urban studies.Therefore,this paper attempts to enter Ding Ling’s literary world from the perspective of urban space in order to find out more.This paper is divided into five parts.The introduction part elaborates the research significance,research status,concept definition,research methods and innovation.The first chapter mainly discusses the basic features of the relationship between Ding Ling’s novel creation and the urban context.From three aspects of Ding Ling’s urban experience,the general picture of the city in Ding Ling’s novel creation and the lack of the sense of the city scene in Ding Ling’s research,this paper elaborates gradually and deeply.The second chapter focuses on the urban material space in Ding Ling’s novels.Material space can be divided into internal landscape and external landscape.Through sorting out the urban material space in Ding Ling’s works,it can be found that her attention to space has undergone a change from small to large and from inside to outside.In the exploration of the inner private space,we can find the duality of urban material space and the invisible role of material space in shaping people revealed in Ding Ling’s novels.Through the exploration of the external public space,the symbolic significance of "cinema" and "street" in Ding Ling’s works and the invisible role played by the servants in the urban social relations are revealed.The third chapter focuses on the urban spiritual space in Ding Ling’s novels.The spiritual space needs to be embodied in the vivid urban characters.A close reading of Ding Ling’s works reveals common features of vagrancy,disease and poverty in her urban characters.After studying these characteristics one by one,it is not difficult to find that,no matter from the perspective of urban participation,health status,economic status or gender type,the formation of these characters is closely related to the city,and truly reflects the spiritual space of the city.In the description of urban space,Ding Ling has shown great artistic ability,which is the main research content of the fourth chapter.In addition to the mechanical movement "consistent with the pace of the city’s writing characteristics,ding ling novel set a variety of urban space representation,such as urban and rural,urban internal stratified and contrast,at the same time,the integrated use of techniques such as vision,hearing,smell her painted a three-dimensional,flow of urban landscape.Through digging,it will be found that no matter in the bustling urban material space which is imperceptibly shaped,or in the urban spiritual space which is squeezed by the city figures in the spirit,the noise,consumption,banishment and other modern appearances presented by Ding Ling in her novels contain profound anti-modern meaning.In urban study,reveal the ding ling city description "fashionable" in the process of the kernel,ding ling also suggest to us the performance of urban space with many problems,such as whether urban modernity should also is one of the sources of the lead to Sophie anguish,ding ling’s novel creation of the May 4th urban novels inherit and transcend,city’s relationship with women,ding ling’s writing career if there is a "mutation",etc.
