The Calligraphic Art Of Daily Letters Of Scholars In The Southern Song Dynasty

This paper mainly studies Zhu Xi’s handwriting.In the history of Southern Song Dynasty,Zhu Xi was an important calligrapher.As a master of Neo-Confucianism in the Southern Song Dynasty,Zhu Xi’s current academic research on Zhu Xi’s thought is numerous,but it mainly focuses on his philosophical thought,or a certain philosophical theory,such as Li Qi theory,ontology,cosmogenesis,etc.,so his calligraphy achievements have not received more attention from later generations.However,his philosophical thoughts are closely related to his calligraphy thoughts.In addition to his knowledge,he also refined calligraphy and became one of the famous "four masters" of calligraphy in the Southern Song Dynasty.As a special form of writing throughout the ancient and modern times,letters are important research materials that can not be ignored in the history of calligraphy.On the basis of the practical function of readability,they also leave rich calligraphy value for future generations.The main reason why the manuscripts can become an important part of the calligraphic materials is that the manuscripts show the calligraphers’ writing state when they are "unconscious and unconscious",including the use of pen,composition,rhythm and article format,etc.At the same time,through the collation of daily manuscripts,we can clarify the changes of calligraphic thoughts in different periods,which is an indispensable important material for the study of calligraphers’ calligraphy and calligraphic thoughts,It has double research value of literature and art.Therefore,this paper starts with Zhu Xi’s letters,and studies Zhu Xi’s era background,his calligraphy art and calligraphy thoughts,and the impact of his calligraphy on later generations,in order to have a more comprehensive understanding of Zhu Xi’s calligraphy art and calligraphy thoughts.
