GuoShangxian, a famous politician and calligrapher in Qing dynasty, was born in Qianlong fifty years and died in Daoguang twelfth years, and experienced Qianlong, Jiaqing and Daoguang dynasty, his main activity is in Jiaqing and Daoguang periods, during that time, both the economic and the culture of Qing government has fall behing far of the period of Qianlong’s. The county was threatened with internal revolt and foreign invasion In the field of calligraphy, with the Textual studies of the Beixue developing, Tiexue began to ebb. GuoShangxian experienced in this big innovation of the calligraphy field,and his calligraphy thouths could reflect the characteristics of that period also.In this paper, it mainly talked about the GuoShangxian’s calligraphy thoughts through the circle of his friends as the viewpoint, to understand the external environment reflected his calligraphy thoughts, and find out the mainstream tendency of the period. Second, from the work Fangjian Guan Tiba of GuoShangxian to analysis his calligraphy view of value and calligraphy theory. With background of Beixue was excessively used, which has been reflected by the Textual studies, to analysis the calligraphy thoughts of GuoShangxian’s and the value of Beixue with the Tiexie as the viewpoint. Moreover, to probe into his works which has handed down. GuoShangxian used his whole life to studied the famous tablets. Worked hard in his thoughts and practices. For us, it is a good reference to choose.GuoShangxian standed for the Tiexue calligrapher in Jiaqing and Daoguang periods, the thoughts was purely from Wangxizhi and Wangxianzhi, can be made as an epitome for Shidafu Class.To research his calligraphy thoughts has deeply meaning for learning the development of the Tiexue during that period.
