Research On Tang Xianzu's Calligraphy Ar

Tang Xianzu was an outstanding opera and literary figure of the Ming Dynasty,holding a noble position in the Eastern theater world,to the extent that his achievements in calligraphy art were often overlooked.The "Continuation of the Xianlian Society for Friendship",which is currently in the Zhejiang Museum,is one of his representative works in calligraphy.This article first takes his calligraphy art creation as the main thread,sorting out Tang Xianzu’s artistic life,laying the foundation for subsequent analysis of his calligraphy style and ideas.Secondly,it examines the social experiences of Tang Xianzu with figures in the calligraphy and painting industry such as Luo Rufang,Xu Wei,and Dong Qichang,outlining his interactions with famous calligraphy and painting literati in the Ming Dynasty,which also provides artistic accumulation for his calligraphy art creation.Once again,in the process of his literary creation and calligraphy and painting interactions,he gradually formed a unique calligraphy art style and aesthetic concept.This article categorizes and organizes his surviving calligraphy works,examines the background of his creation,and believes that his calligraphy artistic style is reflected in two aspects: "delicate and varied brushstrokes,seeking meaning in plain".It also believes that his calligraphy creation concept is reflected in four aspects: "worshiping two kings,pursuing artistic conception,emphasizing emotions,advocating truth and novelty,and incorporating Zen into calligraphy".This article also analyzes the limitations of Tang Xianzu’s calligraphy art and objectively elucidates its practical guidance value for the late Ming calligraphy world and future scholars.Finally,this article elaborates on the influence of Tang Xianzu’s calligraphy art and creative concepts on his own calligraphy art creation from several aspects such as creative text,creative form,aesthetic pursuit,and emotional expression.
