The Influence Of Bullying Experience On Apathetic Bystander Behavior In Junior Middle School Students: The Mediating Role Of Perceived Social Support And Its Intervention | | Posted on:2024-05-05 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:J Li | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2555307178965179 | Subject:Mental health education | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Bullying in school has become an important issue of social concern.Suffering from bullying in school will affect the physical and mental health of individuals and interpersonal communication,thus affecting the individual’s attitude towards bullying.As the bystander who occupies the largest proportion in the bullying environment,it plays an important role in preventing the occurrence of bullying.The fear of being the target of bullying again makes it easier for people to act aloof and encourage bullying.Therefore,helping individuals with bullying experience to improve their interpersonal skills and understanding that more social support can not only help the individual,but also reduce the indifference of the individual when confronted with bullying.Therefore,this study focuses on exploring the relationship between junior high school students’ bullying experience,perceptive social support and apathetic bystander behavior.On this basis,specific and operable group auxiliary programs are developed to intervene in the subjects’ perceptive social support,so as to reduce individual apathetic bystander behavior.There are two sub-studies in this study:In the first study,The “Bully Questionnaire”、“Perceived Social Support Scale” and“Bullying Participant Behaviors Questionnaire” were used to investigate 593 students from two junior middle schools in Wuhan City and Enshi City,and the relationship among them was analyzed.In the second study,psychological counseling intervention of perceptive social support group was used on the basis of pre-and post-test design of experimental group and control group.On the basis of study 1,a total of 24 subjects with high scores of bullying experience,indifferent bystanders and low scores of perceptive social support were screened out.On the basis of controlling gender variables,24 subjects were randomly divided into experimental group(12 subjects)and control group(12 subjects).The experimental group received perceptive social support group psychological counseling intervention.The control group was treated independently of the intervention content,and the pre-test and post-test data were collected and the intervention effect was tested.The results showed that the perceptive social support group psychological counseling based on cognitive behavioral therapy and interpersonal emotion regulation communication model could effectively improve the perceptive social support ability of individuals.Group counseling with social support as the starting point has a significant effect on reducing the apathetic behavior of junior high school students with bullying experience.These results indicate that junior high school students who have been bullied have a lower level of perceptive social support and more passive behavior in bullying cases.The experimental group not only improves the level of perceptive social support,but also reduces the apathetic behavior in bullying cases after 8 weeks of perceptive social support group counseling.The results show that the interpersonal perception training program designed in this study can improve the level of social support and reduce the indifferent bystander behavior of junior high school students with bullying experience. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Bullying experience, Perceived social support, Indifferent bystander behavior, Junior high school students | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
