| After the outbreak of the Novel coronavirus,China was unable to dispatch or could not dispatch Chinese language teacher volunteers to the relevant countries and regions to carry out Chinese language teaching as scheduled,and some of the Chinese language teacher volunteers who returned to their home countries midway on leave could only teach Chinese online due to the epidemic.In order to continue to respond to the national language and diplomacy policy,many Confucius Institutes have taken the initiative or are forced to carry out distance Chinese teaching.The Confucius Institute of National University of Surabaya withdrew its teaching team in April 2020 and has only just begun to dispatch the first group of Chinese teacher volunteers to resume offline teaching.During the more than three years of epidemic prevention and control,China and Indonesia have only been able to continue their language and cultural exchange and cooperation through online.In order to continue to host the Chinese language teaching at the Confucius Institute Headquarters of the National University of Surabaya and its partners,the Confucius Institute of National University of Surabaya recruited 13 volunteer Chinese language teachers to teaching different class types in different classes.Before choosing what content to teach online,we should not rush to answer the question of “how to teach”,but rather think deeply about “what to teach”.Based on students’ opinions,colleagues’ suggestions and my own experience,I chose lesson17 Man and Nature from the textbook HSK4 to design and implement the online teaching in order to verify the practical value of the Theme-based Teaching Model.This thesis is divided into five chapters:Chapter One: Introduces the origin of the research,the significance of the research,the current research of domestic and international research,the content of the research,the method used in the research and the Theme-based Teaching Model.Chapter Two: Introduces the origin,connotation,characteristics,principles of using and the basis theoretical of the Theme-based Teaching Model.Chapter Three: Analyzes the application of the Theme-based Teaching Model in online Chinese Advanced Comprehensive Course,mainly analyzes the nature,characteristics and teaching principles of the course of Chinese Advanced Comprehensive Course,and finally explores the outstanding advantages of using the Theme-based Teaching Model.Chapter Four: This part is the core chapter of this thesis,in which we make a detailed design of the teaching content of the lesson 17 Man and Nature in HSK4,including three major aspects of the teaching design: pre-preparation,classroom implementation and post-class feedback.Chapter Five: Reflections on the using of the Theme-based Teaching Model in the Chinese Advanced Comprehensive class,combined with feedback on teaching practice,mainly including both the teaching design itself and the teaching implementation process.In addition,interviews are also combined to collect students’ feedback and peers’ opinions and to make relevant suggestions on this teaching design.Finally,we will identified the advantages and disadvantages of adopting the Theme-based Teaching Model for teaching Advanced Comprehensive Chinese courses,and the results of this research and the challenges that we faced.We hoped that this thesis can provide some reference for the teaching of online Advanced Comprehensive Chinese courses. |
