| Vigorously promoting the construction of urbanization is an important task in China’s economic and social development.Building a multi-level social security system, achieving full employment and accelerating the development of urbanization are independent and integrated with each other.Exploring the relationship between the three has certain practical significance and theoretical value.Social security, urban employment and urbanization development have attracted much attention in recent years, but the relationship between them is not clear. This paper focuses on this issue, and introduces the business background, research status, basic concepts and theories, research objectives and so on.In the quantitative analysis, through the linear regression model based on panel data, this paper studies the impact of social security level on the development of urbanization, and introduces the intermediary variable urban employment level to explore whether it plays an intermediary role in the transmission mechanism of the relationship between the two.At the same time, this paper also studies the differences of the impact of social security on the development of urbanization among the eastern, central and western regions. In the empirical analysis model:the explanatory variable is the development level of urbanization, which is expressed by the proportion of urban resident population; The explanatory variable is the level of social security, which is expressed by the proportion of social security budget expenditure in the total public budget expenditure; The intermediary variable is the urban employment level, which is expressed by the proportion of Urban Employed Population in the total employed population. In addition, six control variables are introduced, which are:GDP,medical and health level, education investment level, basic medical insurance coverage rate, income gap between urban and rural residents and consumption expenditure level. The data sample consists of relevant business data from 2005 to 2020,with a total of 496 items for 16 years. Each data includes 9 attributes, covering the above variables. The empirical results show that there is a positive correlation between social security level and urbanization development level and urban employment level, and the partial regression coefficients are 0.262 and 0.124 respectively; There is a positive correlation between urban employment and urbanization development level, and the partial regression coefficient is 0.136;In the relationship between social security and urbanization development, the partial regression coefficient of urban employment decreases from 0.262 to 0.143 after adding intermediary variables, and the intermediary effect is obvious. From a regional perspective, the corresponding partial regression coefficients of the eastern, central and western regions are 0.188,0.114 and 0.1 06 respectively, and the eastern region is the most affected.Main conclusions:first, the higher the level of social security, the higher the level of urbanization development, and the level of urban employment plays an intermediary role between the two.Second, for the eastern, central and western regions, the level of social security has a differentiated impact on the development of urbanization. Therefore,in promoting the construction of urbanization,it is suggested to adopt different development strategies, and the regional policy mechanism should also have certain flexibility, multi forms, multi ways and multi stages. |
