| In recent years,with the impact of various emergencies,such as the novel coronavirus epidemic,the workload of community volunteers has increased significantly.In order to further improve the completion of daily work,helping behaviors frequently appear in community organizations.As a universal extra-role behavior,helping behavior has been widely verified for the motivation of team members and organizations.However,when reviewing relevant literature about helping others at home and abroad,we found that previous research mainly focused on the field of enterprise organization,but the corresponding research on helping others in the public sphere was very few.In addition,academic research on the outcome variables of helping others mostly focuses on the income perspective of recipients and organizations,ignoring the potential negative effects of helping others and the influence of helping others themselves.The helper,as the subject of behavior,will produce a series of psychological changes after helping,which will affect the subsequent behavior.Based on the above situation,this paper will pay attention to the influence of helping others on community volunteers themselves.Based on the theory of emotional event and the theory of conservation of resources,this study introduced psychological significance and emotional exhaustion as intermediary variables,and promotion orientation as moderating variable,to explore the influence of helping others on work engagement of community volunteers,and to explore the mechanism of psychological significance and emotional exhaustion of community volunteers.In this study,community volunteers in Minhang District of Shanghai and Wuhu City of Anhui Province were selected as research samples.By sending questionnaires to collect data,315 valid questionnaires were obtained after screening.The collected samples were analyzed and processed by data processing software such as AMOS 24.0 and SPSS 26.0.The research results of relevant data show that the implementation of helping behavior can lead to the increase of psychological sense of meaning and emotional exhaustion of community volunteers,which have different effects on job involvement.Promoting orientation plays a regulatory role in the whole event.In this paper,the psychological significance,emotional exhaustion and work engagement of community volunteers’ helping behavior are studied by building a mechanism model of community volunteers’ helping behavior.Provide theoretical support and reference for the follow-up benign development of community volunteers and collectives. |
