Research On The Current Situation And Improvement Strategy Of Professional Ability Of Counselors In Private Universities In Nanchang City

College counselors are closely connected with college students’ life and study.College counselors play a vital role in ideological guidance,political education,psychological counseling,and learning guidance of college students.They guide students who have just entered the campus in correct ideological and political education,solve students’ problems in daily life and study,help students grow rapidly,and enable them to be in line with the social path in the future.It can be said that college counselors are indispensable spiritual guides and spiritual tutors in college students’ life and study.Their comprehensive professional ability level has important significance for the influence of college grassroots.This study focuses on the current situation and improvement strategies of counselors’ professional abilities in Nanchang private undergraduate colleges.First,it defines the relevant concepts of college counselors and college counselors’ professional abilities.On the basis of the established research structure and ideas,it takes the college counselors of 7 private undergraduate colleges in Nanchang City as the survey object,using questionnaire survey,expert interview,literature,mathematical statistics and other means.First,it analyzes the general situation of the counselors’ basic information and professional ability in Nanchang private colleges and universities;Secondly,the overall professional ability of counselors is combined with the data in the basic information for statistical analysis,and the difference analysis and correlation analysis are carried out.Finally,it analyzes the influencing factors of the counselors’ professional ability in Nanchang private undergraduate colleges and universities,and puts forward improvement countermeasures for the promotion path of the counselors’ professional ability in Nanchang private undergraduate colleges and universities.The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)In terms of basic information structure,the proportion of male and female counselors is relatively balanced,with master’s degree as the main group.More than half of the counselors are not consistent with the majors of the students in their classes,and most of them are at the intermediate level or below in terms of professional titles.The number of counselors in their classes exceeds the national standard of 180-250.(2)The overall professional ability index of counselors has little correlation with gender and professional consistency,but professional consistency has correlation with the Party and League building ability and class building ability in the sub index;The length of service is related to the total index and the ability of each sub index;Academic background and number of class leaders are positively correlated with the overall indicators,but there is no correlation between academic background and ideological and political education,and between the number of class leaders and online ideological and political education and daily affairs management;The grade of professional title only affects academic guidance,mental health education and counseling,career planning and employment guidance,and theoretical and practical research.(3)Influential factors: personal factors include heavy work,insufficient professional achievements,high occupational pressure,weak theoretical basis,etc;In terms of college factors,there are disordered job orientation,vague career development,heavy work tasks,lack of time for summary and reflection,insufficient attention from senior management,and insufficient motivation for promotion;Social factors include low sense of professional identity,imperfect selection mechanism,large treatment gap and serious brain drain.(4)Improvement strategy: at the individual level.We should correct motivation,change ideas,keep pace with the times,think more and learn more,and improve relevant professional knowledge and skills;Schools should pay attention to the improvement of counselors’ professional abilities,improve the incentive system and make good career planning;At the social level,we should introduce relevant policies on the construction of counselors in private colleges and universities,formulate the professional access system for counselors in private colleges and universities,and improve the professional social identity of counselors in private colleges and universities.
