In recent years, while off-school training institutions have been developing rapidly, they have excessively pursued fame and fortune, violating the laws of education and student growth and development, and the normal teaching progress of schools has been greatly impacted.Against this background,in July 2021,the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council jointly issued the"Opinions on Further Reducing the homework burden and off-school training burden of students in the compulsory education stage",referred to as "Double Reduction".The implementation of this policy marks the formal implementation of the rectification policy for the education and training industry."Double reduction" has a significant impact on all training institutions in the industry, especially K12 education and training institutions, which undoubtedly have the strongest medium and long-term impact.K12 education and training institutions need to be transformed and developed urgently. This article takes multiple K12 education and training institutions in China as the research object, and through research on the development status and business transformation strategies of K12 education and training institutions, explores the impact of the "double reduction" policy on the education industry under the strengthened supervision of the education and training industry in the post epidemic era. After the release of the policy,K12 education and training institutions immediately entered two stages:business rectification and business exploration. After the closure of K12 discipline training, the institution’s business income plummeted. How to conduct business transformation and survive has become a priority issue in the transformation. Then,it analyzes the main practices of K12 education and training institutions in the context of "double reduction",and selects two strategies based on their actual situation:business diversification and business focused development. Finally, taking the industry representative New Oriental and Gaotu as examples,we analyzed the enlightenment they brought to us in the process of business transformation. This article uses case study methods, literature research methods, and other research methods to analyze the problems and causes of the transformation of K12 education and training institutions. The problems include the existence of industry barriers in the transformation, the resurgence of education involvement, the facing of transformation difficulties, the unclear direction of transformation, and the removal of core businesses. Then,it conducts a comprehensive and in-depth study of the causes of the problems. The study shows that the institutions have insufficient resource reserves Inadequate adjustment of one’s own ideological awareness, inconsistency of business transformation with its actual situation, pending improvement of national policy rules, and insufficient awareness of one’s own policy risks are the main causes of the problems.Based on the above issues, specific transformation strategies have been proposed, including reshaping business models, aligning business transformation with national and social development orientation, strengthening resource reserves, enhancing one’s own ideological awareness, and improving the national policy system. The research in this article has certain reference significance for the transformation and development of K12 education and training institutions in the context of"double reduction".The goal is to explore a practical strategy that meets the current national conditions and responds to the requirements of the national "double reduction" policy, which has important practical significance.
