Research On The Important Expositions Of Marx And Engels On The Two Opium Wars

China is a country that Marx and Engels have paid close attention to for a long time in their theoretical research and revolutionary practice,and the two Opium Wars are unavoidable major events in China’s modern history.It is also the starting point for Marx and Engels to analyze and discuss the China issue.The relevant expositions of Marx and Engels on the two Opium Wars in modern China are important Chinese examples of Marxist world history theory.At present,there is a lack of research and academic achievements on Marx and Engels’ comments on the two Opium Wars.China is a country with Marxism as the guiding ideology,and China’s development needs a loud voice from Marx’s discourse.In this context,it is undoubtedly necessary to study the evaluation of Marx and Engels on the two Opium Wars.Under the guidance of Marxist theory of historical materialism,this paper takes Marx and Engels’ comments on the two Opium Wars as the research object,and adopts the research methods of systematic analysis and induction,history and logic by consulting Chinese and western literature.This paper is divided into the following four aspects: First,it interprets the historical background of Marx and Engels’ comments on the two Opium Wars from two parts: China and the world before the Opium War and China written by the British bourgeois media.This paper summarizes the writing reasons of Marx and Engels’ comments on the two Opium Wars from the needs of Marx and Engels’ own theoretical research,the failure of European revolution and Marx’s "London period",and the close relationship between European social and economic development and China.Second,it discusses the origin and nature of the two Opium Wars from Marx and Engels;the double influence of the two Opium Wars on modern China;the classic battles in the two Opium Wars-take the War of Zhenjiang between China and Britain as an example;the reasons for the failure of the two Opium Wars in modern China sum up the main contents of Marx and Engels’ comments on the two Opium Wars;Third,it discusses the positions and methods of Marx and Engels’ comments on the two Opium Wars.Fourth,it probes into the theoretical value contained in Marx and Engels’ comments on the two Opium Wars and its practical enlightenment to today’s China.Through the study,it is found that Marx and Engels’ comments on the two Opium Wars in modern China contain profound theoretical value:They add Chinese examples to the Marxist theory of world history;It is helpful for us to deepen our understanding of Marxist theory of world history;Taking history as a mirror,this paper gets some enlightenment: First,adhere to the overall guidance of Marxism in the process of national development.The second is to continue to deepen the reform in an all-round way and promote development through reform,and the third is adhere to the road of peaceful development.
