The Impact Of Social Security On The Property Income Difference Among City And Countryside Residents In The Process Of Urbanization

The experience of European and American countries shows that although property income accounts for the lowest proportion of Chinese residents’ income,it may be the main source in the future.In the reports of the 17 th,18th and 19 th National Congresses of the Communist Party of China,it was particularly emphasized to broaden the property income channels.China’s policies are helping to boost residents’ property income.As a result,property income has recently grown the fastest compared with other sources of income and its proportion continues to increase.Theil index is used to estimate the property income gap between city and countryside.The results show that the gap is gradually expanding with the process of urbanization.How to further expand the channels of farmers’ property income,promote their sustained and rapid growth and speed up the narrowing of the property income gap are realistic obstacles to achieve common prosperity.This paper consists of five parts.Part one: the research background and significance of this paper are described;The second part firstly reviews the research results of previous scholars,sorts out the influence mechanism of social security on the property income difference among city and countryside in the process of urbanization,and defines the relevant concepts;The third part is the status analysis,which describes the status quo of the property income of residents in China,and finds that the property income difference among city and countryside is becoming the main constraint affecting the urban and rural income gap;The fourth part empirically examines the impact of urbanization level and social security expenditure on the property income difference among city and countryside residents,the effect of social security expenditure on the property income difference among city and countryside residents under different urbanization levels;The mediating effect of social security expenditure on the gap through population aging.The mediating effect on the property income difference among city and countryside;The fifth part is based on the above descriptive analysis and theoretical demonstration to obtain the research results,and put forward targeted opinions on how to close the property income difference among city and countryside.The study found: Chinese social security expenditure will increase the property income difference among city and countryside.If social security expenditure increases by 1 percentage point,the property income difference among city and countryside will expand by 0.306%.Income disparity is inhibiting,if the urbanization level increases by 1%,the Theil index will decrease by 1.243%;Social security expenditure is an indirect mechanism that can increase the degree of aging to affect the property income difference among city and countryside,the mediating effect is 18.50%,and there is a shading effect;The effect of social security expenditure on the property income difference among city and countryside is discrepant at different stages of urbanization.In the early phase,when the urbanization level is lower than 0.4928,social security expenditure has a strong driving force on the property income difference among city and countryside.With the continuous advancement of urbanization,the driving force gradually weakens.When the urbanization level develops to a certain height,that is,when the urbanization level is greater than 0.61,the effect of social security expenditure on the property income difference among city and countryside will change.At this time have an inhibitory effect.Based on the above argument,after theoretical analysis and demonstration of the thesis,policy recommendations for reference are put forward: improve the social security system and integrate social security services among city and countryside;strengthen the urban radiation effect in the process of urbanization;promote the same land,the same rights and the same price in the process of urbanization.
