Abstract/Summary:
Since the official implementation of family planning as a basic state policy in 1982 and the promulgation of the "two-child policy" by the government in 2016,family planning has made outstanding contributions to China’s social and economic development. However, with the passage of time, negative effects have gradually emerged, and the problem of child loss has gradually entered the public view.Until the introduction of the "three-child policy" in 2021,millions of parents who lost their only child have entered the aging stage. This group will not only have to bear the pain of losing their child, but also face the dilemma of having no one to rely on in old age due to the absence of legal subjects of support. Therefore, the problem of care for the only-child-lost elderly is no longer a simple individual and family issue, but a social issue that needs extensive attention. However,at present, family care is still the main form of care services for the elderly in China. The death of the only child leads to the decline of traditional family care for the elderly who lost only child, and the care needs of the elderly without only child cannot be effectively met. Therefore, accurately identifying the needs of care services for the child-died elderly is the primary link to optimize care services and achieve accurate assistance.Firstly,by predicting the number of the elderly who lost their only child, this study analyzes the characteristics of the groups, clarifying the responsible subjects and sorting out the current policies, the general situation of the elderly who have lost their only child and their needs for care services are clarified, namely, economic assistance, medical services, life comfort and spiritual support.Secondly, based on the questionnaire survey results of the child-died elderly people in many places, descriptive analysis,one-way analysis of variance and multiple linear regression analysis were used to explore the factors that influence the requirement of care services for the only-child-lost elderly. Finally, according to the empirical analysis results and the social ecosystem theory, the paper proposes to optimize the care services for the elderly who lost their only child, not only to provide accurate services for them at different levels of needs, but also to form a multi-party force to reasonably allocate the care services resources under the guidance of the government. This study innovatively selects the theme of "optimizing the care services for the elderly who have lost their only child",which not only breaks through the traditional framework and broadens the application scenarios of care services, but also has great significance in clarifying the needs of care services for the elderly who have lost their only child, promoting social equity and efficiency, and actively dealing with the aging population and other issues.
