Research On The Community Elderly Care For The Lost Only-child Elders

As a basic national policy in China,the family planning policy has effectively controlled the concentrated and rapid growth of the population in China since its implementation in 1982.However,after the only child died,the lost only-child family has become a worrying social issue.China’s existing health elderly care service system,which mainly based on "home-base elderly care,supported by community health elderly care,and supplemented by institutional elderly care," has initially taken shape in pilot cities nationwide.But with the intensification of social aging,the lost only-child elders are faced with many difficulties,such as financial constraints,lack of care,lack of spiritual comfort and so on.How to develop community care to solve the elderly care problems of urban families who have lost their only child is imminent.This paper takes the lost only-child elders in District G of Suzhou as the research object,based on community care theory and service-oriented government theory,conducts a survey on the elderly care situation of the lost only-child elders in the community in District G of Suzhou across literature research,questionnaire survey,and interview methods.Through browsing and sorting out existing relevant literature research results,this paper analyzes the specific data on the care needs of the lost only-child elders and the supply of elderly care services in the community,which exposes the problems in the community elderly care for the lost only-child elders,such as insufficient economic assistance,inadequate planning and management of community elderly care facilities,low quality of spiritual comfort services for the lost only-child elders,lack of targeted medical services and so on.Moreover,it deeply analyzes the reasons for the existing problems of community elderly care for the lost only-child elders in G District of Suzhou City from such aspects as imperfect security system for the lost only-child elders,insufficient attraction of community elderly care facilities,immature spiritual comfort service team,and low attention paid by the government to community special medical services.Finally,based on the experience of community elderly care for the lost only-child elders in other cities in China,this paper studies feasible countermeasures and suggestions for improving the elderly care system for the lost only-child elders in Suzhou from several aspects,such as optimizing the elderly care security system for the lost only-child elders,promoting the management system of community elderly care facilities,strengthening the construction of spiritual comfort service teams,and accelerating the development of community special medical services.The purpose of this study is to improve the understanding and attention of the society towards the lost only-child elders,attract more help from all sectors of society to this group,and further clarify the responsibilities and obligations of the government to serve the people,so as to better safeguard the elderly care life of the lost only-child elders,and promote social stability and harmonious development.
