Marx’s Need Theory And Its Contemporary Value

Human needs are an important part of the theory of human existence and development,and an important subject that Marx focused on and studied throughout his life.Marx took real people as the subject of needs and paid attention to the development and changes of needs.In the new era,with the transformation of the main contradictions in society and the increasing needs of the people,using Marx’s theory of needs to guide the realisation of China’s current needs for a better life can further enrich and improve the content of Marx’s theory of needs while meeting the development of the people’s high-quality needs.This paper is divided into four parts to study Marx’s need theory.The first part mainly explores the theoretical source and formation process of Marx’s need theory.The second part discusses the basic content of Marx’s need theory in detail,which is mainly divided into internal logic and types of needs.The internal logic of needs takes "realistic man" as its premise,takes the dialectical development of needs and production as its motive force,and takes the free and comprehensive development of man as its goal.The types of needs are divided into individual needs and social needs according to the subject,survival needs,enjoyment needs and development needs according to the level,and material needs and spiritual needs according to the content.The third part is the characteristics of the need,namely,people,sociality,history,infinity and extensiveness.The fourth part argues for the contemporary value of Marx’s theory of need.First,it is conducive to a scientific understanding and grasp of the major social contradictions in the new era;second,it is conducive to achieving a happy life for the people;and third,it is conducive to consolidating the leadership position of the CPC.
