| Many countries,especially developed countries,have long taken STEM education as a key path to promote education reform and cultivate innovative talents.The United States,the United Kingdom,Germany,Japan and other major developed countries have all formulated policies and measures for STEM education from the height of national strategies,and the development of STEM education and cultivation of STEM-related talents have become important options for many countries to compete for international talents and enhance their international status.STEM education for young people is undoubtedly pivotal in addressing the STEM talent shortage crisis in the future,as young people indicate the future of science and technology.The introduction of a public-private partnership model from resource integration can guarantee the richness and practicability of STEM programs.As one of the stakeholders of the society,enterprises,with their high sensitivity and rapid responsiveness to the market and industry,play an expanding role in economic and social life,and have unique resources and conditions to participate in off-campus education.Based on the theoretical perspective of public-private partnership in public management,this study takes Company A’s off-campus STEM education program as a case study and employs various research methods to study the deep operation mechanism and components of the cooperation between enterprises and the public sector,as well as explore its top-level policy structure and the paths of different subjects’ participation,multiple motivations.The author wants to encourage more enterprises to better perform their educational functions of promoting STEM literacy among youth,and thus promote the wider development of off-campus STEM education by enterprise subjects,thus providing some new research findings and practical improvement suggestions for the development of STEM education in China. |
