In the context of China’s aging population,since the Third Plenary Session of the 18 th CPC Central Committee,China has put forward the "separate two-child","comprehensive two-child","three-child" and other fertility policies.Some experts predict that China will fully open up its fertility policy in the future.But from the perspective of the fertility rate in recent years,this series of policies to encourage childbirth has little effect,China is currently facing the risk of low fertility,the reasons for which can not help but ponder.In fact,women in China have long faced employment discrimination and fewer opportunities for upward career mobility in the employment process.These employment problems have also become an important issue in achieving the current new population policy and addressing the low fertility rate.However,the current policy of encouraging childbirth will further negatively affect women’s employment.How to properly deal with the employment of women in Jilin Province under the adjustment of the fertility policy is an important way to achieve "high-quality and fuller employment" for women,and is also important for achieving the goals of the new fertility policy and enabling women to share the fruits of economic and social development.The paper examines the employment of women in Jilin Province from three perspectives:labour equity,work-family balance and sustainable employment.The results of field research in Jilin Province show that fertility events,especially multiple births,have increased women’s informal employment rate and inadequate investment in human capital,and that women are facing more employment difficulties.The analysis reveals that women in Jilin Province face problems of employment equality,difficulty in achieving work-family balance and employment sustainability after the adjustment of the fertility policy.The study concludes that this is mainly due to the lagging social security system,the conflict between women’s multiple social roles and the low willingness of enterprises to hire women.Finally,the study proposes countermeasures in four areas: promoting equal employment,building a childbirth-friendly society,promoting sustainable employment and developing new employment patterns.
