In recent years, the ecological environment of China’s marine fishery has been seriously damaged. Many excellent spawning grounds, seedling collecting grounds, fattening grounds and breeding grounds have lost their fishery functions, and the ability of proliferation and recovery of marine fishery resources has been greatly reduced. After the entry into force of the Sino-Japanese Fisheries Agreement, the Sino-Korean Fisheries Agreement and the Sino-Vietnamese Beibu Gulf Fisheries Cooperation Agreement, the scarcity of fishery resources in China has become more prominent. In addition, there are some problems in China’s marine fishery industry, such as structural convergence, low level and extensive management. The traditional marine fishing model has been unable to meet the needs of sustainable development of China’s fishery due to low economic benefits, marine environmental pollution and destruction of fishery resources. In order to effectively prevent the continuous decline of fishery resources in China and make the marine fishery change from extensive to eco-friendly,in recent years China has begun to transform its fishery economy. As an important part of fishery economic transformation, marine fishing villages are also undergoing transformation. With the continuous progress of the times and the increasingly open concept, the female labor force has increasingly become an indispensable part of social production activities. However,in traditional fishing villages, traditional women are affected by internal and external factors such as conservative ideas, low cultural quality and lack of policy support, which leads to a difficult situation for women in fishing villages to obtain employment. However,in recent years, thanks to the diversified development of the traditional economic model in fishing villages, the fishing economy transformation has made full use of the fishing village labor force, and the employment situation of women in fishing villages has changed.Women in fishing villages have begun to change from engaging in fishery auxiliary labor to employment in various industries and fields. In recent years, there are few articles and research reports on women’s employment in fishing villages. Most of them study the relevant situation of fishermen’s changing jobs and income, and there are few targeted explorations and analyses on women’s employment in fishing villages.Based on the general law of the transformation and upgrading of fishery economy and the path of women’s labor transfer in fishing villages, this study takes the transformation of fishery economy as the research background and breakthrough point, and sets Xijiagang fishing village in Chongming District of Shanghai as the area for research.By means of questionnaire survey and field interview, combined with qualitative and quantitative analysis methods,it is planned to solve the following problems: the current situation of fishery transformation and women’s employment in fishing villages, the interactions between them, the employment status, problems and influencing factors of women in fishing villages, etc. The research idea of this paper is as follows: Firstly, the relevant data in recent years are sorted out from four angles: the total output value of fishery economy, fishery labor force, fishermen’s income and fishery industrial structure, and the vertical comparative analysis is made to explore the transformation of Shanghai’s fishery economy. In order to deeply study the related problems of women’s employment in fishing villages, this paper analyzes the influence of fishery economic transformation on women’s employment in fishing villages and the existing problems of women’s employment in fishing villages by using the relevant information collected from field visits to fishing villages and combining with the actual situation of the fishing villages. Then, using Logistic binary regression model, this paper further explores the employment status of women in fishing villages and its related influencing factors. The conclusions of this study are as follows: First, the total output value of fishery economy is increasing, the fishery labor force is gradually decreasing, and the fishermen’s income is increasing. From the perspective of the output value structure of the three major industries, the fishery output value has always been the main component of the total output value of fishery economy, while the development of fishery industry, construction industry, fishery circulation and service industry is relatively lagging behind,so the transformation and optimization of fishery economy is necessary.Secondly, because leisure fishing is more suitable for women in fishing villages,it can promote women’s employment in Xijiagang fishing village,Chongming District,Shanghai. In addition, the low cultural quality, the lack of scientific management in fishing villages, the insufficient utilization of cultural resources in fishing villages and the weak industrial base are the problems that affect the employment of women in fishing villages at present.Thirdly,at present, the employment rate of women in Xijiagang fishing village in Chongming District of Shanghai is low,and the results show that five factors, such as age, education level, support for the elderly, employment training and employment discrimination, have a significant impact on the employment of women in fishing village, indicating that these factors have a significant impact on the employment of women in S fishing village in Chongming District of Shanghai. In view of the content of this study, the author thinks that relevant management departments and policy makers should pay enough attention to it and put forward effective policy suggestions to promote the employment level of women in fishing villages. This study puts forward the following suggestions: 1)change the traditional concept of family and employment, and improve the ability of fishing village women to participate in social and economic activities;2)vigorously develop the tertiary industry with leisure fishery as the main industry, and create more job demands;3)broaden employment channels and improve women’s salary and gender awareness;4)develop more public welfare posts to help women in fishing villages find jobs;5)optimize fishing village management and infrastructure, and improve the level of hard conditions.
