Cheng Fangwu(1897-1984),also known as Cheng Hao,was born in Xinhua County,Hunan Province.He is a proletarian revolutionist,educator and writer.He devoted his life to the educational cause of the proletariat and advocated that education serve socialism.It has always been the purpose of running a school to train useful talents for the party’s revolution and construction.Cheng Fangwu has been the president and dean of many colleges and universities,and pays close attention to the school moral education.In the long-term teaching practice,he has formed his own unique moral education thought.Cheng Fangwu adheres to the Party’s leadership in the process of moral education,takes Marxism and Mao Zedong thought as the guiding ideology,and emphasizes the education of world outlook and outlook on life,ideals and beliefs,patriotism and revolutionary moral cultivation in moral education.This not only has reference significance for moral education in colleges and universities,but also affects the effective improvement of young students in the process of self-education.At home and abroad,the research on Cheng Fangwu’s moral education thought is not profound,and the research results are very few.Therefore,on the basis of the previous research on Cheng Fangwu’s educational thought,this paper combs the relevant works in detail and probes deeply into his moral education thought.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part mainly describes the research background and significance of the paper,combs and analyzes the relevant literature at home and abroad,in addition to the research focus,difficulties and innovation,research ideas and research methods are briefly described.The second part mainly expounds the formation and development of Cheng Fangwu’s moral education thought.On the basis of defining the concept of Cheng Fengwu’s moral education thought,this paper expounds the theoretical source and practical basis of Cheng Fangwu’s moral education thought.Its theoretical sources include Marxist theory and Mao Zedong thought,and its practical basis includes the influence of scholarly families,the edification of Meishan culture and its long-term personal practical experience.The development process of his moral education thought can be divided into four stages: infancy period,formation period,development period and perfection period.The third part summarizes the main contents and characteristics of Cheng Fangwu’s moral education thought.Cheng Fangwu emphasizes the education of world outlook,ideal and belief,patriotism and revolutionary moral cultivation for students.Its moral education is characterized by practicality and class.The fourth part explains the methods and principles of Cheng Fangwu’s thought of moral education.Cheng Fangwu uses the methods of theoretical indoctrination,practical training and self-education in his moral education.And always adhere to the principle of direction,the principle of realism,the principle of demonstration.Combined with the contents,methods and principles of Cheng Fangwu’s moral education,the fifth part discusses the historical position of Cheng Fangwu’s moral education and its enlightenment to contemporary colleges and universities,teachers and young students.Colleges and universities adhere to the overall leadership of the Party over moral education and the guidance of Marxism to moral education;teachers enrich the content of moral education,improve the actual effect of moral education,teachers pay attention to lead by example,and cultivate students’ sense of self-discipline;young students pay attention to moral cultivation,improve personal morality,young students establish self-education consciousness,perfect and perfect personality.
