Research On Digital Contact Of The Elderly From The Perspective Of Social Support Theory

With the continuous development of information technology,people’s Daily life is becoming more and more digitized.At the same time,the aging degree of our population is also deepening,has entered the aging society.Digital services are invisibly keeping older people,who have difficulty accessing the Internet,out of the fast door.In such a severe aging situation,how to let the elderly into the digital process has become an important issue.In recent years,the academic circle has paid more attention to the digital divide faced by the elderly,but the research on the digital contact of the elderly is still weak and needs to be further studied.Therefore,the research on the digital contact of the elderly is of great significance in theory.At the same time,digital technology is also an important part of solving the problem of population aging.It is also of profound practical significance to help the elderly cross the digital divide and integrate into the digital society.This paper combines the theory of social support to make a study of the digital contact problems of the elderly in our country.Data are obtained by questionnaire survey and then the data are regression analyzed with the help of SPSS statistical software to understand the effects of three different types of social support: family support,friend support and other support on the digital contact behaviors of the elderly.At the same time,the role of individual factors such as gender,age,education level,living area and health status,etc,were explored.It is found that family support,friend support and other support have a significant impact on the digital contact level of the elderly,but individual factors do not play a moderating role in this process,and some individual factors have an impact on the digital contact level of the elderly.It is therefore possible to help older people integrate into the digital society from three dimensions: family,friend and others.At the family level,the younger generation of family members should pay attention to the digital dilemma faced by the older generation,and help the older generation to use and master the operation of smart applications by means of hand teaching and remote guidance.At the friend level,the elderly and their friends and neighbors can help each other and share their experiences in using digital devices.At other level of support,governments,communities and businesses should join in a multi-pronged effort to help older people learn new things,learn new skills and integrate into the digital society.
