Research purposes:With the development of modern basketball, basketball players need to have excellent physical fitness to ensure adequate technical and tactical play in the game, and in all the technical movements, the function of core area is inseparable from the role of core stability as a core An important part of the function, occupies an important position in the athlete’s overall technical movements, and is also a key factor in improving the level of personal basketball. The Swiss ball was first invented as a kind of children’s toy.Later scholars found that the practice of the Swiss ball can help people with motor nerve damage. After decades of research and development, the Swiss ball has gradually become a method of core stability training.Because of its simplicity and portability,Swiss balls can be seen everywhere in schools, homes, fitness clubs, and training teams. They have become a popular fitness equipment and are widely used.Swiss ball training is a training mode in which the trainer is in an unstable state to train on the ball,to enhance the stability of the core muscles could improve sports performance. This study aims to explore the effect of Swiss ball training on athletes’ core competence, and compare the pros and cons of Swiss ball training and traditional core training on athlete’s core functions.Research objects and methods:In this study,20 male basketball players from Fuxin Basketball School in Liaoning Province, one of the key units of youth basketball training, were selected as experimental subjects. All subjects were no significant injury history.Through experimental method, mathematical statistics method, and literature data method, the players are divided in two groups by random grouping.Experimental group 1 and 2 will carry out Swiss ball training and traditional core training respectively.Test after 8 weeks of training intervention, the tests including measuring core stability of 8-level abdominal test;6-level back test;5-level lateral psoas muscle test;and one-legged standing test with eyes closed.Measures of core strength included one minute of sit-ups,one minute of push-ups and plank. After obtaining the test data, compare and analyze the test results.Research results:(1)After training, the core strength and core stability of the subjects in the two groups were improved.(2)Experiment 1 group has a very significant improvement in scores in all tests(p<0.01);Experiment 2 group except for the eighth abdominal bridge test(p>0.05),Other tests have also improved(p<0.01).(3)Experiment 1 group is better than experiment 2 group in improving performance.Except of standing on one foot with closed eyes and six inverted bridge tests(p>0.05),Other test scores are significantly improved compared to the experimental 2 group(p<0.01).Research conclusion:(1)Both Swiss ball training and traditional core training can effectively improve the trainer’s core stability and core strength.(2)The experimental group 1 using Swiss ball training has greater impact on core stability and core strength than the experimental group 2 using traditional core training methods.(3)According to the results of the five-level side bridge test, the Swiss ball training method can coordinate the psoas muscles on both sides of the body and achieve an average lifting effect.
