The Research About Self-expression Of Zine Subculture In China

Zine is a kind of privately published hand-written book,which is mainly completed in various DIY forms,such as collage,hand drawing and so on.Zinesters expresses themselves through the reorganization of various materials,the embezzlement of symbolic signs and the visual combination of drawing.Zine originated from fanzine in the US in the 1930s,developed in the punkzine of british punk and girlzine of the feminist movement in the 1970s.It has existed in history to promote the ideas of marginalized groups,and has since become a tool of self-expression.This paper used interview,symbolic text analysis and historical document analysis.In the era of Internet and new media,with the decline of print media,zine has still emerged as a domestic subculture in recent years.Its alternative and unique visual forms meets the individual’s subcultural expression needs that reflects the artistic trend of daily life driven by the consumer society.But its fragmented expression also inevitably weaken the depth of one’s thought;To some extent,zine has become an extension of individual subjectivity that faces the possibility of reconstruction in the landscape of selfexpression and the return of self-consciousness of postmodernism.Relying on new media technology,subcultural groups have developed many "zine+" converged forms to remediate self-expression,while the private space of expression continues to expand outward,but it is also restricted by the public space.
