The selections from Shiji have always been an important part of high school language textbooks.Although they are few in number,they contain various educational elements such as the foundation of ancient Chinese language,thinking training,aesthetic meaning and the spirit of traditional culture,and have important educational values.This paper explores the content of the textbooks and the changes in the teaching content in the successive editions of the textbooks by analyzing the selected passages of Shiji in the seven editions of secondary language textbooks in 1979,1982,1987,1990,2002,2006 and 2019.However,the textbook is only an example and carries limited resources,so teachers should pay attention to the language ideas of the editors in the textbook as well as fully develop teaching resources when selecting teaching contents in order to effectively implement the four core literacies of the language subject.Through the analysis of the case study,the author believes that the current teaching of the selected chapter of "Shiji" suffers from the inertia of solidifying a single mindset and character analysis in the selection of content.The main reasons for this are the evaluation system’s overemphasis on the guiding role of the entrance examination in teaching and the lack of training of the teachers concerned in history and other disciplines.To this end,this paper benchmarks the General High School Language Curriculum Standards(2017 edition revised in 2020),takes the unified version of the high school language(compulsory)textbook"Shiji" selection as the object of study,applies relevant literary theories,as well as the results of the study of "Shiji",and attempts to optimize,integrate,and develop the teaching content of the "Shiji" selection.Specifically,the four core literacies of the language discipline are the four areas of the program: "language competence and the content of teaching selected texts from the Shiji" based on "language construction and use";"narrative and the optimization of teaching selected texts from the Shiji" based on "aesthetic The program is based on the"appreciation and creation" of narrative and the optimization of the content of teaching the selected texts of the Historical Records;the "development and enhancement of thinking" of the "Sima Qian’s thought and the reconstruction of the content of teaching the selected texts of Shiji";and the "reconstruction of the content of teaching the selected texts of the Historical Records" based on the "appreciation and creation" of narrative.The four programs are actually four types of teaching content,which are based on "cultural inheritance and understanding" and "integration of Chinese culture and the content of teaching selected texts from the Shiji".The four proposals are actually four ideas and attempts to inspire the current teaching of the selected text of Shiji to change its concept,adjust its thinking,expand the new path of teaching while adhering to the premise of student-centeredness,and effectively improve the level of language teaching in secondary schools.
