| The education policy of the new era requires paying attention to subject characteristics,cultivating students’ cognitive ability,developing students’ thinking,and attaching importance to the penetration of subject characteristics and thinking methods in teaching.Regional physical geography features,as one of the core contents of junior high school geography curriculum,help develop students’ geographic thinking and ability and cultivate students’ core literacy in geography,but there are still many practical problems in its teaching.Based on this,a systematic study was conducted on the teaching of regional physical geography features in junior high school.Using literature method,questionnaire method,interview method and other research methods,we sorted out the knowledge characteristics and values of junior high school regional physical geography features,constructed the cognitive path of junior high school regional physical geography features,explored the current situation of junior high school regional physical geography features,and came to the following conclusions.1.The characteristics of junior high school regional physical geography have significant disciplinary characteristics.By analyzing the Compulsory Education Geography Curriculum Standards(2022 Edition),it is found that the characteristics of junior high school regional physical geography present four features,namely,focusing on the cultivation of students’ geographic thinking and ability in terms of objectives,attaching importance to the use of geographic tools in learning,presenting a spiral in terms of structure,and focusing on the horizontal connection of regional knowledge in terms of content.2.The characteristics of junior high school regional physical geography have important curricular and educational values.Through literature combing,it is found that regional physical geography features occupy the main position and play a linking role in the junior high school geography curriculum,and at the same time contain geographic ideas and methods,which can promote the cultivation of students’ core literacy in geography.3.The cognitive path of regional physical geography features based on the characteristics of geography subjects is constructed.According to the knowledge characteristics of regional physical geography features,combined with the cognitive rules of students,the cognitive principles of regional physical geography features are proposed and the cognitive path of regional physical geography features in junior high school is constructed based on the characteristics of geography discipline from three dimensions: geospatial scale,feature integrity and element dominance,and geographic comparison.4.There is a deviation between ideal and reality in the teaching of regional physical geography features in junior high school.The investigation and analysis of the current situation of teaching regional physical geography features in junior high school reveals that there are four pairs of contradictions in the current junior high school geography teaching practice: desirable and real,required ability and actual ability,cognitive commonality and teaching dispersion,and teacher output and student reception,reflecting that there are many problems in teaching regional physical geography features in junior high school.Based on the above study,combining the cognitive path of regional physical geography features with the actual problems in teaching practice,we propose corresponding strategies for geography teachers’ teaching from three perspectives: penetrating cognitive ideas,improving students’ abilities,and applying diversified methods.Teachers can infiltrate the cognitive thinking of regional physical geography features by transforming the spatial scale,following the "wholeled" and integrating geographical comparison;by improving students’ ability to read and analyze maps,synthesize and analyze,geographic representation and induction and deduction,they can improve students’ cognitive thinking of regional physical geography features.By using problembased teaching,lifelike teaching,inquiry learning,and in-depth learning,we optimize the teaching methods of regional physical geography features and create a diversified and diverse classroom. |
