| Volunteerism is voluntary,unpaid and organized dedication.College students volunteer and volunteer service are mutually influencing and achieving.College students can be seen everywhere in the western countryside,on the front lines of the fight against COVID-19,and in the Bird’s Nest stadium in Beijing.Volunteer service is also a platform for college students to grow up.Volunteering is also a service job.Volunteer service in different scenarios will have some requirements.Those requirements can make college student volunteers produce some special emotion regulation process which is different from the life.For example,for the sake of the service object or does not affect the volunteer service process,college student volunteers work in a particular situation can’t show positive emotions or negative emotions.This is the emotional labor that college students pay in volunteering.Emotional labor tends to bring negative emotions,which will affect emotional experience and later volunteer service participation.Therefore,it is necessary to study the emotional labor of college students in volunteer service,so that college students can have better emotional experience in volunteer service,improve the continuity of volunteer service participation,and realize self-growth.This study focuses on emotional labor and puts it in the context of college students’voluntary service.Therefore,this study will first conduct exploratory research and then conduct quantitative research.This study is divided into two sub-studies.The study 1 conducted qualitative interview research on emotional labor of college student volunteers in the process of volunteer service,and also explored the emotion and emotion regulation characteristics of college students in volunteer service,so as to help the organizers of volunteer service to deepen their understanding of college students volunteers.In study 2,a quantitative research was conducted on emotional labor in volunteer service of college students.Questionnaires were distributed to 272 college students with volunteer service experience,using ECR-CS,Emotion Regulation Scale and Emotional Labor Scale.The purpose is to study the relationship between emotional labor and emotional regulation strategies,the results of emotional labor and the influencing factors of emotional labor in volunteer service.The conclusion of Study 1 is as follows:in the process of volunteer service,emotional characteristics mainly include:diversity,volatility,restrictive.Emotion regulation characteristics are:autonomy,urgent control,repeatability,offsetting.College students will pay emotional labor in volunteer service.The conclusion of Study 2 is as follows:(1)During volunteer service,the emotional labor of college student aresignificant different in gender,career,whether as a leader of volunteer service.Women,the student of arts choose to play more deep acting,but men andthe student of science tend to play more surface acting.Volunteer leaders adopt more deep acting.(2)The relations between emotional labor and emotion regulation are likeobjective behaviors and strategies.Cognitive reappraisal and expressive suppressionwere related to deep acting,and expressive suppression was related to surface acting.(3)The surface acting of college students’ volunteer service is negatively correlated with emotion,volunteer service experience and satisfaction,while the deep acting is positively correlated with relevant results.(4)During volunteer service,expressive suppression plays a mediating role between attachment anxiety and surface acting,cognitive reappraisal plays a mediating role between attachment avoidance and deep acting.The study suggests that it is necessary to pay attention to the emotional problems caused by the emotional labor of college students in the process of volunteer service.We need to improve the using of emotional strategies of volunteer service college students,carry out targeted emotional training,and provide more effective emotional group support for volunteer service students. |
