Rural education plays an important role in China’s basic education.However,for a long time,rural schools have been on the edge of basic education.There are some problems,for example,the quality of teachers is poor and education fund is also short,which restrict the improvement of teaching quality in rural schools.Teaching research can promote teachers’ professional development,effectively solve various problems encountered in education,teaching and school development,and finally realize the common development of schools,teachers and students.It can be said that this popular teaching and research activity,which has the widest participation and is closest to ordinary teachers,plays an important role in rural primary schools.Under the background of promoting the balanced development of education,it is of great practical significance to go deeply into rural primary schools to conduct research,find out the problems and reasons in the development of teaching and research,and put forward effective strategies to promote the effectiveness of teaching and research and the professional development of teachers in rural primary schools.This study adopts the method of purposeful sampling,selects the rural primary school teachers in L Autonomous Prefecture of Gansu Province as the research object,and comprehensively understands the teaching and research situation of rural primary school teachers in L Autonomous Prefecture through questionnaire,interview and observation.In order to better understand the differences between rural primary school teachers’ teaching and research and areas with high teaching and research level in L Autonomous Prefecture,Lanzhou,the provincial capital,was selected as the norm control.The study found that: firstly,the overall situation of rural primary school teachers’ teaching and research is poor;Secondly,rural primary school teachers of different ages have significant differences in teaching and research professional guidance;There are significant differences in the content and professional guidance of teaching and research among rural primary school teachers of different teaching ages;Rural primary school teachers with different positions have significant differences in teaching and research system;Thirdly,the current situation of teaching and research of Township Central Primary School teachers is significantly better than that of teaching points;Additionally,compared with the sample urban primary school teachers with better teaching and research situation,it is found that there is still a big gap in teaching and research among rural primary school teachers.On this basis,this paper analyzes and discusses the existing problems and reasons of rural primary school teachers’ teaching and research: at first,teachers’ time and energy are limited,and old teachers’ job burnout is serious,which leads to the lack of motivation of teachers’ teaching and research;Secondly,the school leaders pay more attention to teaching than research,ignoring the conventional management of teaching and research,resulting in the imperfection of the teaching and research system;Thirdly,the small scale of the school,the small number of teachers and the scattered inter school teaching and research exchanges lead to the problem of a single form of teaching and research;Additionally,teachers’ teaching and research theory is weak,the coordination of teaching and research organization is poor,and the content of teaching and research is solidified;Besides,the school is located in a remote area with inconvenient transportation and insufficient investment in teaching and research funds,resulting in the lack of professional guidance in teaching and research.In view of these problems,this paper puts forward some suggestions to improve the teaching and research of rural primary school teachers from the following aspects: first,teachers should establish the concept of lifelong learning;Second,improve the teaching and research system of rural primary schools,including establishing and perfecting the evaluation mechanism and incentive mechanism of teaching and research,and ensuring the teaching and research time of teachers;Third,establish joint teaching and research and use the network to build a new teaching and research platform,so as to enrich the forms of teaching and research;Fourth,teachers innovate the content of teaching and research by strengthening theoretical learning and carefully designing teaching and research activities;Fifth,use the Internet to form a "trio" expert team formed by university professors,excellent teaching and research personnel and front-line famous teachers to participate in teaching and research activities,so as to strengthen the professional guidance of teachers’ teaching and research.
