At present,the overall situation of moral education in China’s schools is relatively good,but in the open international environment and multicultural background,some students’ moral concepts are blurred,moral emotions are weak,cognitive behaviour is disconnected,and other real problems have emerged.The Outline for the Implementation of Civic Morality in the New Era clearly states that great importance should be attached to existing problems in the field of morality,adhering to the unity of goal orientation and problem orientation,and guiding young people to closely combine correct moral cognition,conscious moral cultivation and positive moral practice.Therefore,it is particularly important to explore specific paths for moral education that meet the new requirements of the new era and enhance the effectiveness of moral education.Moral elevation is a positive moral emotion in which individuals feel that their moral sentiments have been uplifted by appreciating others’ virtues or criticizing bad morals when observing others’ moral behaviors,which can promote individuals to have more pro-social behaviors such as sharing,helping others,cooperation,humility and self-sacrifice in the process of socialization.Reflective journal is a way to promote moral elevation and helps to develop moral reflection skills.It is the necessary way to strengthen moral education to promote moral elevation and improve moral level by using reflective journal.Therefore,using Marxist moral education theory and theories related to moral psychology as a guide,an empirical study on the cultivation of moral elevation among different study participants in universities,primary and secondary schools can help explore effective and specific cultivation countermeasures,and provide a new way of cultivation and practical reference for ideological and political education.Through the questionnaire survey method,experimental method and interview method to empirical study found that participants moral elevation was at the middle to upper level,and that recording the moral observation journals of virtues and bad morals could cultivate the moral elevation.The "Observe Phenomena-Reflective Writing-Share and Expand" form and the basic style of moral reflection journal can be used in moral education practice to enhance students’ moral reflection ability and improve the level of moral elevation.At the same time,it also found that some practical problems such as the level of moral elevation should be improved,the reflection journal cultivation approach should to be optimised.Based on this,the cultivation of moral elevation should accurately grasp the scientific laws,strictly follow the principles of cultivation,integrate the Marxist concept of morality throughout the whole process of cultivation,start at an early age,progress step by step,identify the focus and emphasis of different school levels according to their physical and mental characteristics and understanding and cognitive abilities,and adopt a cultivation model with the characteristics of school levels: focus on emotional experience and promote habit formation at primary school level,focus on rational education and strengthen emotional identity at secondary school level,focus on comprehensive integration and refining moral character at university level,and with school,family and society working together to promote students’ moral standards.The empirical study confirms that reflection journals can cultivate moral elevation,examines the influencing factors and characteristics,and initially proposes countermeasures for the cultivation of different studying phase,but to build a more targeted and effectiveness,initiative,cohesion and collaborative methods of ideological and political education,still need to further explore the inner relation between reflect journal and moral elevation and influence mechanism,and explore the effective vertical connection and horizontal coherence of the cultivation of students’ moral elevation at different phase of studying levels to continuously improve the effectiveness of ideological and political education.
