| Since the 1970 s,the introduction and long-term implementation of China’s family planning policy has affected Chinese society and countless families,resulting in the birth of billions of only children and their families.The family planning policy has been in place for more than 40 years,and the first generation of parents with only children is also entering old age.China’s aging society is accelerating,family structure is becoming smaller and family functions are becoming weaker.Compared with families with multiple children,the uniqueness and irreplaceability of children in one-child families make their pension problems particularly prominent.With the emergence and development of the dual economic and social structure in urban and rural areas,most of the only children in rural areas go to work,study and settle down in the economically developed urban areas,which makes the families of the only children in rural areas increasingly empty-nest.In this case,if the parents of the only child in the city have huge risks in supporting the old,then the parents of the only child in the countryside will face more and bigger severe challenges in supporting the old.Based on exploratory and forward-looking perspective,through to the Hefei L county G town rural 35 families of first generation of the one-child family has carried on the on-the-spot investigation,using in-depth interviews survey method,understand the current situation of rural first-generation only-child parents family endowment.Based on the analysis of the individual and family characteristics of the respondents,the present situation and predicament of the family pension of the rural only-child parents family is described and analyzed.From economic support,life care and mental comfort to the analysis of current rural first-generation only-child parents family endowment,the study found that the one-child family endowment ability is insufficient,the one-child parents endowment economic risk big,the low degree of financial support to parents,children of the one-child parents in old age daily care concerns,singleton female parents emotional conclusions such as the lack of comfort.The reason is mainly due to parents’ own economic ability to provide for the aged is insufficient,children’s economic support to their parents is low,and the only child parents lack family life care and spiritual comfort.In order to alleviate the first generation of rural only child parents endowment.Suggestions for rural first-generation only-child parents to increase employment support measures,overall planning of rural one-child family pension,strengthening rural spiritual and cultural pension construction,change parents’ pension concept,improve rural pension infrastructure construction,encourage rural one-child parents to actively integrate into the society,get more emotional comfort,etc. |
