The state has always attached great importance to the development of children. In formulating and implementing relevant parenting policies and ensuring services, the CPC and the government earnestly protect their rights and interests and dignity. As a vulnerable group in society, orphaned and disabled children, especially those in welfare institutions, face more difficulties and challenges in their physical and mental health. As a result of living in welfare homes for a long time, orphaned and disabled children are separated from the society in their upbringing, and have problems in self-cognition and behavior management,so that they cannot integrate into the society when they grow up.At present, the care of orphans and disabled children in welfare homes is mostly focused on their physical health, but not enough on their mental health, personality cultivation, habit formation and other aspects. In the existing literature, there are few studies on the intervention of music therapy on orphaned and disabled children in welfare homes,so that music therapy has not been popularized in the field of children’s social work.As a barrier-free way of communication, music therapy is of great significance to children’s psychological and behavioral growth. Therefore, from the perspective of social work, this thesis conducts intervention research on the aggressive behavior of orphaned and disabled children in welfare homes. This study took orphaned and disabled children in Children’s welfare home of S City,Jiangxi Province as the research object, and collected data by literature method, observation method, interview method and other methods. The study found that the orphans and disabled children in the orphanage had problems such as poor emotional cognition, low emotional management ability and weak behavioral control level, and were prone to impulsiveness and aggressive behavior. In the study, guided by cognitive behavior theory, social learning theory and humanistic theory, using music therapy,we carried out group intervention activities for 6orphaned and disabled children in the welfare home. The team conducted nine activities, including games, flow experience, music, film and television appreciation, etc.Through the process of evaluation(crew members participation, group activity design rationality, performance),effectiveness evaluation, questionnaire, group members of behavior change, others assessment, the evaluation of social workers,we found that team members can distinguish and treat different emotions correctly, and to some extent can improve the ability of expression and communication, and that aggressive behavior frequency decreases and learn to understand and care for others as well.Based on the above research and the intervention of group work, this thesis puts forward the following suggestions around the welfare homes, society, and orphan and disabled children.First, the country should cultivate professional talents in music therapy and social work.Second, link resources and build social support networks.Construct the support system of the civil affairs Bureau, social workers and social charity organizations for the orphaned and disabled children, and provide high-quality resources for Children’s welfare home.Third,as an important place for orphans and disabled children to grow up,the staff in welfare homes should pay more attention to the mental health and needs of children,so as to reduce aggression.Fourth, enhance the behavior management ability of orphaned and disabled children, distinguish correct and wrong behavior.
