| With government’s strong support for the social welfare service,the basic living requirements of those children who are living in welfare home have been greatly satisfied.However,as they grow,there are series of problems have appeared in the aspects of psychology and personality,particularly the lack of autonomy.Because in a particular environment,that is,welfare home staff just give children meticulous care in daily life,but neglect the spiritual and psychological needs,it is difficult to create a suitable atmosphere to cultivate children’s independent awareness and ability,so the autonomy of the children has been in a state of downturn.Based on this background,the children of C Welfare Home in Taiyuan city were deeply observed,and the status quo of their autonomy development was expounded and the reasons were analyzed.From the professional perspective of social work,this paper aims to improve the autonomy of children in welfare home,and aims to use the group work method to intervene in children in welfare home to fully explore the existing resources and advantages of children,so as to help them cultivate their own sense of autonomy and improve their autonomy.The research shows that the autonomy of children in welfare home is caused by various factors,besides,it is difficult for the individuals to escape from the environmental system,moreover,it is found that the intervention of the group work is beneficial to the improvement of children’s autonomy in the welfare home.This practical exploration focuses on the children themselves and their environment,combining theory with practice,well to apply social work professional concept to the children’s autonomy development,thus providing a new method and idea for the care of children in welfare home. |
