| Emotion management ability is a very important ability for everyone,and the intervention of emotion management ability is also an important research content in the field of social work.Nowadays,China’s senior care industry is developing rapidly,the scale of senior care business is expanding rapidly,and institutional senior care has become a way for many elderly people to enjoy their twilight years.Nursing care is an important part of the elderly care business,and nursing caregivers play an important role in the professional and professional development of elderly care services,as they take on the professional responsibility of caring for the daily lives and physical and mental health of the elderly.Due to the nature of work is typical emotional labor,the group of elderly caregivers are generally plagued by negative emotions and have a low ability to manage emotions.The low emotion management ability of elderly caregivers will not only adversely affect their own physical and mental health,but also negatively affect their work status,which will affect the service quality and even restrict the longterm development of elderly institutions.In this context,this study adopted a case-work approach and conducted an intervention to improve the emotional management skills of an elderly caregiver at the Y elderly institution,and analyzed and evaluated the process and service effects.In this study,we first collected the basic information of the client through questionnaires,participant observation and interviews in two months,and analyzed the current situation and basic needs of the client’s emotion management ability.Combined with social work practice concepts and professional theories,the intervention plan of the case work was formulated.Then,based on ABC theory and enrichment theory,the intervention services were provided to the clients in three aspects: emotion perception,emotion expression and emotion regulation.Through knowledge learning,case study,and scenario practice,we increased the client’s knowledge of emotion,improved the client’s perception of emotion,and enhanced the ability to express and regulate emotion,thus promoting the client’s ability to manage emotion.Finally,a case evaluation was conducted to comprehensively analyze the intervention effect of this service.The evaluation showed that the clients’ scores on the Emotion Management Competence Questionnaire increased from 48 before the intervention to 77,which was a significant effect of the intervention and the clients’ emotion management competence was significantly improved.In summary,this study found that the casework approach can effectively improve the emotional management ability of elderly caregivers,and the application of ABC theory showed some advantages in the intervention process.The study suggests that the elderly caregivers themselves should pay attention to the improvement of their emotion management ability,the elderly care institutions should strengthen the care support for the elderly caregivers,and social workers should increase their practice in the field of elderly care institutions and pay more attention to the elderly caregiver group. |
