Social Work Practice Research On The Integration Of Women With The Elderly Community

According to the Report on the Development of China’s Floating Population 2016 released by the National Health Commission,there are nearly 18 million elderly people living with them in China,accounting for 7.2% of the country’s 247 million floating population,among which43% come to take care of their younger generation.Moreover,according to the data of the seventh national census,the scale of China’s floating population shows a trend of further expansion,which to a certain extent makes the population of the accompanying old people further expand.In the number of elderly people who move with them,female elderly people who move with them occupy the main position,and female elderly people who move with them mainly undertake the role of housework and taking care of grandchildren in the community.As for the changes in the field,the elderly female migrants face a series of problems in the community integration,hindering their resocialization,and they are in the plight of people on the edge of the city.With the downward shift of the focus of social governance,it is of great significance to take effective measures to help the elderly women who move with them integrate into the community smoothly,strengthen grassroots community governance,optimize the community governance structure,build a harmonious community,and improve the quality of life of the elderly women who move with them.This study takes the elderly women who move with them in X Community of Xi ’an city as the research object,and this community is a community with a high degree of commercialization,so residents have no worries about livelihood.By using the interview method and participatory observation method as the data collection method,the study found that the elderly female migrants in the community are faced with problems such as inadaptability to the community environment,inadaptability to the community life,narrow interpersonal communication channels and low community participation.After an in-depth analysis of the problems,it is found that the lack of integration of female elderly community is caused by the lack of individual integration ability,lack of informal support network,community service level and formal support network to be improved.On this basis,the empowerment theory and social support theory as the theoretical basis,using the old to lead the new way,using the methods of group work and community work for female elderly with empowerment and social support network,actively link all resources and mobilize all forces,and achieved certain results.These results mainly include: strengthening the willingness of female accompanying elderly people to integrate into the community,enhancing the sense of community identity,community belonging and interpersonal skills of female accompanying elderly people,and finally forming a mutual aid group with the old leading the new.Finally,from the perspective of empowerment,internal and external interaction and platform support,the author puts forward countermeasures and suggestions for social work to promote the integration of women with the elderly community,in order to provide more space for action and practical feasibility for the later social work to intervene in the analysis and solution of such problems.
