According to the statistics of "China Journalism Education Yearbook 2020",as of the end of 2019,there were 972 colleges and universities offering journalism and communications majors in my country, with a total of 1,632 majors, and the number of undergraduate students at school exceeded 230,000.The construction of journalism and communications disciplines Continue to improve. But on the contrary, the uncertainty of the development of the traditional media industry has further increased. The "Report on the Development of China’s Media Industry 2019-2020" shows that many industryrelated indicators in my country’s media field have dropped significantly, and the traditional distribution channels of newspapers have been severely affected. The "China Media Industry Development Review and Development Trend Analysis Report(2021-2027)" released by the China Industry Research(CIR)also pointed out that the total asset impairment of the media industry reached 58.4 billion yuan, and the revenue and profit growth rate was the fourth consecutive year.Decline.In this context, whether the traditional media people stick to or leave is not only related to the personal choice of the practitioners, but also regarded as the "weathervane" of the traditional media industry, especially when they have "industry stars" and "industry benchmarks".When media practitioners with such attributes choose to resign and transform,to a large extent, they will have a certain negative impact on those who are still in the traditional media and those who are about to enter the traditional media. Therefore, for media majors who use them as role models, idols, and journalistic ideals, how do they perceive the resignation and transformation of traditional media professionals? What impact will this perception trend have on their professional identity and willingness to work in the future? In response to the above problems, this research first combed and analyzed relevant domestic and foreign research literature, and combined the social identity theory,self-categorization theory, and individual-environment matching theory, and divided the research into media major students’ turnover perception, career identity, and future employment willingness Three dimensions,in order to explore which of the key factors will cause media majors to obtain the perception of resignation, and how to affect their professional identity and future career choice willingness.By drawing lessons from mainstream occupational identity measurement methods at home and abroad, and on the basis of the existing media occupational identity survey scale, this article independently constructs the questionnaire(see appendix).A total of506 valid questionnaires were formally distributed, and the SPSS 23.0 statistical software was used to analyze reliability, validity, correlation, and regression tests, and the following conclusions were drawn:1.The overall trend of media students’ perception of resignation is at a relatively high level(M=3.53,SD=0.42).Students have the strongest perception of resignation transition events of traditional media practitioners, with an average of 3.78.However,the professional identity of media students(M=3.57,SD=0.41)and future employment intentions(M=3.26,SD=0.51)are average.2.The professional identity of media majors will play a positive role in promoting their future employment intentions, while the perception of resignation will play a negative role in the future employment intentions of media majors.3.The difference in grades, academic qualifications, internship experience, and the first choice of college entrance examination for media majors will not affect their professional identity, but will have an impact on their turnover perception trends and future employment willingness.4.The downturn in the industry environment is an important factor that causes media majors to obtain high resignation perception, and it has further increased students’ perception of traditional media practitioners’ resignation transition events.5.The degree of professional involvement of media majors has a significant positive impact on their perception of resignation and willingness to work in the future. After graduation, work related to traditional media has also become a kind of "transitional employment for media majors choose."6.The professional value, professional emotion, and professional demand recognition of media majors will have a positive impact on their future career desires. When they cannot be effectively satisfied,it will cause the students’ professional ideals to conflict with reality, resulting in media majors.Confusion and misgivings about career choice.Based on the above research conclusions, this article proposes the following 5optimization suggestions:1.A rational view of the resignation and transformation of traditional media practitioners.2.Improve the internship experience of media majors and increase their career ambitions.3.Enhance the professional value and professional emotional recognition of media majors.4.Improve the adaptability of media majors to the professional environment.5.Improve industry treatment and enhance the willingness of media majors to find employment.
