The gender wage gap is an important manifestation of social inequality, which will have an effect on China’s economy, society, politics and other fields. It is committed to eliminating the gender wage gap in the labor market, which is not only conducive to achieving social equity, but also promotes the efficient operation of enterprises and promoting the green and healthy economy development. So what is the distribution of the gender wage gap among various income classes? What factors affect the gender wage gap? Based on the data of China Comprehensive Social Survey in 2017,this thesis studies the distribution of gender wage differences in different quantiles with RIF regression method, and looks for its influencing factors. At the same time,it decomposes wage differences and discusses the mechanism of regional heterogeneity on gender wage differences. The simulated results suggest that, first, the non-conditional quantile regression method is used to specifically decompose the gap and find that the length of education, the level of management and the type of work unit all have certain explanatory ability to the gender wage gap.Second, through the decomposition of the gender income gap at each sub-location point, the gender wage gap in 2017 showed a non-standard Ushaped distribution, that is,the ‘sticky floor effect’ and the ‘glass ceiling effect’ coexist. However, the gender wage gap is more prominent at the low end of the wage distribution over several years;third, the majority of the wage gap between men and women comes from discriminatory factors.fourth, regional differences On the other hand, whether it is economic-related indicators, safeguard institutional policies,or cultural-related indicators, they can narrow the gender wage gap at low quantiles, but widen the gender wage gap at high quantiles. The significance of this paper is that few scholars study the impact of regional heterogeneity on gender wage gap in supplementary theory. From the research,it turns out that the vast majority of the reasons for the wage difference between men and women are gender discrimination, and the length of education and the level of management have significant effects on the wage difference. At the same time, there is a strong ‘sticky floor effect’ in China. These findings provide compelling evidence for the promotion of a more equitable labor employment system and a benign labor market environment to reduce the gender pay gap.
