| In recent years,the number of new cancers in China ranks first in the world,and the number of newly diagnosed cancer patients is very large.When cancer is first diagnosed,most patients will have anxiety,which will have a great negative impact on patients.In recent years,the practical field of social work has been expanding.Medical social work has become one of the important branches of social work.The concern and intervention of patients’ emotions has also become an important topic of social work research.The purpose of this study is to assess the problems and needs of newly diagnosed cancer patients with anxiety,provide services for patients by using professional methods and skills of social work,help patients treat diseases with rational beliefs,and alleviate the anxiety of newly diagnosed cancer patients.Firstly,the author investigated the anxiety of newly diagnosed cancer patients in the Department of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine through scale measurement and interview,and identified 10 patients as members of the group activities.Guided by the cognitive behavior theory,the group activities focus on guiding the service objects to face up to their emotions,changing the irrational beliefs of the service objects,promoting the formation of group motivation and the exertion of functions,and enabling members to support and encourage each other.A total of seven group activities have been carried out.At the initial stage,the group focuses on promoting mutual understanding among members.In the second to fourth sections,the group activities focus on guiding the service objects to express their anxiety and reinterpret their emotions by using cognitive behavior theory.In the fifth to sixth sections,the group activities popularize health knowledge and hand flower teaching for patients to relieve their anxiety.In the last section,the group activities focus on summarizing and reviewing the previous services to consolidate the effect of group services.Through the comparison of pre-test and post test,it was found that the anxiety level of the group members decreased as a whole,but there were still two group members with anxiety.After follow-up observation,it was found that Xiong was still in a heavy mood,so he decided to provide case service to Xiong.The case service focuses on refuting the irrational beliefs of the case owner under the guidance of cognitive behavior theory,and guiding the case owner to integrate the meaning of life under the guidance of life review theory.A total of seven talks were held.This study found that social work can play a good role in the process of anxiety intervention for newly diagnosed cancer patients.On the one hand,social work theories such as cognitive behavior theory have good relevance and can provide scientific and effective theoretical guidance for the intervention process.On the other hand,social workers have unique advantages and can use multidisciplinary knowledge and skills to provide professional services for patients without losing temperature,It is necessary to pay more attention to medical social work when intervening the anxiety of newly diagnosed cancer patients.In the specific practice process,medical social workers also need to strengthen their own practical skills.On the one hand,they need to combine the problems and needs of the service object and reasonably design the service plan from the reality.On the other hand,social workers should also pay attention to the integration of multidisciplinary skills and methods,so as to promote the alleviation of anxiety of newly diagnosed cancer patients and the supplement and improvement of the professional knowledge system of medical social work services. |
