For 3-6-year-old children,the color design and collocation of kindergarten outdoor environment will influence their physical and mental development imperceptibly.At the present stage,most kindergartens in China generally adopt primary colors and large-scale jumping colors with excessive saturation as the main colors of outdoor environment.There are still many problems in the application of environmental colors,such as improper color selection,chaotic collocation of environmental colors,environmental colors neglect of children’s psychological needs,etc.This design status will have many adverse effects on children’s growth.Therefore,the research is devoted to making the kindergarten environment color have a positive effect on children’s physical and mental development,so that children can have a sense of belonging and security in the environment,thus promoting the healthy growth of children.The purpose of this study is to build a harmonious and orderly kindergarten outdoor environment color.Firstly,according to the basic theories of environmental color psychology,children’s psychological and perception characteristics,the composition of kindergarten outdoor environment and so on,the influence of kindergarten outdoor environment color on children is analyzed.Secondly,the study selects the outdoor environment design cases of five kindergartens with different characteristics in recent years,uses the analysis method of space situation,combines with color psychology,analyzes and compares the cases,and summarize the relationship between the color of the kindergarten’s outdoor environment and the spatial scale,regional environment,and design theme of the environment.By using multidisciplinary comprehensive analysis method combined with questionnaire survey method,this study summarizes the lessons that can be learned from its cases,that is,environmental colors should be adapted to local conditions,have clear situational characteristics,be concise and cheerful in color configuration,and use natural colors reasonably,etc.According to the conclusion of the above research,this study puts forward the pertinent design ideas for the color design of the kindergarten’s outdoor environment,and the three principles of environmental color integration,environmental color conforming to regional and cultural characteristics,and environmental color conforming to children’s physical and mental characteristics.And summed up several universal design strategies,including the situational theme creation of environmental colors,the functionality of environmental colors,the application of natural colors,the color design of various space interfaces and the color design of environmental facilities,so as to bring more exciting and rich environmental experiences to children.Finally,according to the summary and theoretical results of the research,the methods and strategies are applied to specific practical cases.
