Teaching Of Argumentative Writing In High Schools Based On Ancient Prose Learning

Abstract/Summary:
As a classic material,ancient Chinese prose occupies an important position in high school Chinese teaching.The learning of ancient Chinese reading is an important practice for students’ knowledge and cutural accumulation,as well as cognition and literacy aesthetics improvement.Reading and expression are two indispensable aspects of Chinese language ability development,and the motivation of this study is to integrate these two aspects to achieve a better teaching result.This paper attempts to solve the current practical problems in the teaching of ancient prose and argumentative essay writing through researching the integration of these two sections,focusing on the hidden value of related teaching between different learning sections.Through a questionnaire survey,it was found that the students’ argumentative writing has the following problems: First,students lack internal drive and comprehensive ability,especially the ability to accurately review questions andform ideas.Second,students only see "words and sentences" in the study of ancient prose,but do not see writing techniques or deep ideological connotations.Third,the teachers’ practice of integrative teaching of argumentative writing based on ancient Chinese learning is not sufficient.Through the analysis of different types of exemplary essays and problematic essays,this paper analyzed the key competency elements of high school argumentative essay writing,and proposed five key competencies,namely,reviewing questions,logical thinking,conceptualizing and structuring essays,material description and language expression.By combining the<The Evaluation System of Chinese National College Entrace Examination> and <Guangdong College Entrance Examination Composition Scoring Standards>,a reverse demonstration of the proposed key writing competencies was performed.Taking the unified compilation of compulsory and optional compulsory textbooks for senior high school as the research starting point and foothold,this paper reviewed the selection of ancient Chinese textbooks,analyzed and summaried the characteristics of the selection from different latitudes,reflected on the intention of textbooks compilation from the value of ancient prose unit in assisting students in systematic thinking and writing training,and finally made a concrete analysis of the teaching value of argumentative writing based on ancient Chinese.Focusing at the specific path of improving the writing ability of argumentative essays based on the learning of ancient prose,this paper proposed two strategies for teaching and learning,"the past serves the present,stimulates interest through needs" and "finds flawsand strengths,stimulates interest through doubts".The paper advocated teachers to innovate the classroom teaching form of ancient prose teaching and comprehensively improve students’ ability of argumentative essay writing based on the study of ancient prose by combining reading,writing and argumentation.At the level of in-class learning,this paper conducted an example study and analysis of the value of ancient prose.It studied the "spirit of the subject",the "vein of logic",the "bone of structure",the "fresh of content" and the "skin of language" in ancient prose.It highlighted:“learning questions reviewing and subject establishing from ancient prose” from a cognition and articulation perspective;“learning analytical thinking from ancient prose” from a divergent thinking,effective reasoning and dialectical argumentation and expression perspective;“learning essay structuring from ancient prose” from the perspective of mastering common structure and conceptualization of argumentative essays;“learning articulation from ancient prose” from the perspective of correct,concise and in-depth usage and description of materials;“learning expression from ancient prose” from the perspective of language forms and literacy.At the level of extracurricular and expanded learning,this paper took the teaching needs of the unified compilation of textbooks as a guide and<Guwen Guanzhi>(<the Finest of Ancient Prose>)as a supplementary blueprint for extracurricular learning.It analyzed the value and adaptability of reading materials based on the principle of textbook compilation and the difficulty level of seleted materials.The reading resources were compiled and integrated to form extracurricular reading suggestions for ancient Chinese that are suitable for the unified compilation of high school Chinese textbooks.At the end of the dissertation,this dissertation developed case practice around ancient prose learning and argumentative writing,formed a teaching design,and validated the research effectiveness of this dissertation with concrete practice.
