In the context of the new curriculum reform,the integration of teaching contents has gradually become a direction of curriculum reform.STEM education comprehensively covers the four major contents of science,technology,engineering and mathematics,and pays more attention to the integration of knowledge between interdisciplinary subjects and the application of knowledge to solve practical problems,so the STEM education concept and the new curriculum reform concept are unified in this aspect of the goal.In order to actively explore the direction in which the teaching model of the primary school IT curriculum can be reformed and to continuously enrich the teaching methods of the primary school IT curriculum,this thesis integrates STEM education into the primary school IT curriculum for teaching model design research,while conducting a three-month teaching practice.This study firstly used the literature analysis method to sort out the current situation of STEM education and primary school IT curriculum teaching,and found that the current traditional indoctrination teaching method of primary school IT can hardly meet the requirements of today’s society for the cultivation of all-round talents.Therefore,on the basis of the analysis of the characteristics and features of STEM education philosophy and Scratch curriculum,the fit point for the integration of STEM education philosophy and primary school IT Scratch curriculum in this study was determined.Then,the existing STEM education and Scratch teaching models were analysed,and the teaching model design purpose and teaching design principles were used as theoretical support to construct a teaching model for the primary school IT Scratch curriculum based on the STEM education concept,including four stages: prototype making stage,work iteration stage,work refinement stage,and in creation or innovation stage.Finally,the experimental research method was used to carry out a three-month teaching practice in two fifth grade teaching classes of primary school Y in a city in the western region,and the questionnaire method was used to conduct pre and post tests on the five dimensions of information literacy,attitude towards the curriculum,creative thinking,logical thinking and problem solving ability for students in the two teaching classes.The differences between the experimental and control classes were analysed using mathematical and statistical methods,and the differences between the pre and post tests of the experimental class and the control The differences between the experimental and control classes were analysed using mathematical statistics,and the differences between the experimental and control classes were analysed based on the data collected.The results show that there are significant differences in the five dimensions of information literacy,attitude towards the curriculum,creative thinking,logical thinking and problem solving skills between the experimental class taught with the STEM education model and the control class taught with the traditional teaching method.The mean scores of the experimental classes were slightly higher than those of the control classes for all three modes of evaluation: teacher evaluation form,student self-evaluation form and group mutual evaluation.Through theoretical research and practical process,it was found that current primary school IT teachers have problems such as inadequate lesson preparation and insufficient attention to their own professional development.Therefore,this thesis puts forward reasonable suggestions for promoting the curriculum and teaching reform of IT in primary schools from four aspects: teachers should prepare lessons adequately when integrating subjects based on STEM concepts,adopt STEM education concepts for teaching at the right time,pay attention to the application research of STEM education concepts,and conduct multiple evaluations from more aspects and perspectives in teaching evaluation.
