| As the carrier of examining students’ mathematics application consciousness and ability, mathematics application problems have always been favored by the propositioners of mathematics examination in primary and secondary schools. With the implementation of "mathematics core literacy",in recent years, new application questions with novel content and long background description often appear in the high school entrance examination questions in various provinces and cities across the country. However, the survey found that due to the weak mathematics reading level of students, their score rate of such questions is not high.It can be seen that mathematics reading has an important impact on the problem-solving ability of applied problems. This paper mainly studies the influence of mathematics reading on the problem-solving ability of eighth grade students from the following aspects.1.On the basis of consulting and analyzing the literature, the dimensions of mathematics reading ability in this thesis are determined as follows: internalization, understanding, reasoning and reflection; The classification of application questions is: number and algebra, graphics and geometry, probability and statistics.2.Compile the mathematics reading questionnaire, mathematics reading test paper and application problem solving ability test paper for Grade 8 students, and conduct the survey among Grade 8 students of No.5 middle school in S city.3.Analyze the questionnaire to understand the current situation of mathematics reading of Grade 8students: the attitude of mathematics reading is relatively positive, but there are still many students who will have varying degrees of fear and irritability when facing the application questions with complex background and unclear quantitative relationship, and even give up the answer directly.Students’ reading habits are general, especially after class reading habits are poor, let alone the breadth and depth of reading;Compared with other dimensions, students’ mastery of mathematics reading strategies is acceptable;Students’ performance in reading metacognition is not optimistic and uneven.4.Using SPSS statistical software to process and analyze the recovered test volumes, the following conclusions are obtained:(1)Most eighth grade students’ mathematics reading ability and applied problem solving ability are at the medium level, and there is no significant difference between genders, but there are significant differences in classes.(2)Through correlation and regression analysis,it is found that there is a positive correlation between eighth grade students’ mathematical reading ability and applied problem-solving ability, and in mathematical reading, reasoning ability has the greatest impact on applied problem-solving ability, while internalization ability has the least impact.(3)Students with high mathematical reading ability have high application problem-solving ability.Similarly, students with high application problem-solving ability have high mathematical reading ability.5.According to the current situation of students’ mathematics reading, the level of mathematics reading ability and applied problem-solving ability, and according to the results of the influence research, this thesis puts forward the teaching strategies and suggestions to improve the applied problem-solving ability in mathematics reading. |
