The core literacy of biology discipline is one of the important bridges linking the six core qualities of Chinese students with classroom teaching practice,and its connotation includes four aspects: life concept,scientific thinking,scientific inquiry,and social responsibility.The concept of life is the cornerstone of the core literacy of biological disciplines,and the concept of structure and function is the cornerstone of other ideas about life,and the establishment of structure and function concepts on the basis of learning biological concepts can effectively help students understand biological phenomena,understand biological facts,and scientifically deal with all kinds of complex problems that arise in real life activities.This study uses the literature research method to define the core concepts such as structure and function,sort out the research dynamics,and find the point of convergence between the 5E teaching mode and the structure and function concept.The action research method is used to explore the content of the structure and function concept of the "Molecules and Cells" module of the high school human-taught version,and the 5E teaching mode is used to develop teaching cases that construct structure and function concept.In the 5E teaching method introduction stage,teachers provide problem situations that are closely related to learning content and life reality;in the exploration-interpretation-evaluation link,the problem string strategy is used,and the group cooperates to complete the inquiry activities,encouraging students to expound the newly acquired concepts of structure and function in their own language,and the teacher supplements them and initially establishes the structure and function concept;in the exquisite-evaluation link,the teacher provides new problem situations,guides students to use the structure and function concept to solve problems,and further establishes the structure and function concept In the evaluation session,students use the form of anthropomorphic short stories to present the hidden characteristics of the acquired structural and functional views,So as to evaluate the students’ construction of structure and function.Then,using the experimental research method,the two classes with no significant difference in biological scores were selected from the internship school to become biological experimental classes and control classes,among them,5E teaching method is used in the experimental class,while the control class used the conventional teaching method to complete a semester of practical courses,and finally used the screening college entrance examination questions and other materials to make a self-made test paper on the biological structure and function concept,and used SPSS software to analyze the test paper,and determined the difficulty,differentiation,credibility and validity of the test paper.Analyzing the students’ post-test scores,It can be concluded that the average grade of the experimental class is obviously higher than that of the control class,and there is a significant difference in the biological scores of the two classes.By analyzing the works of the same student,it can be found that students can gradually fully express the relationship between the concepts related to the concept of structure and function,and have a deeper understanding of the concept of structure and function.According to the analysis of the research results,the 5E Teaching model can promote students to understand biological concepts,and has positive significance for the construction of the concept of structure and function.
