Carrying out whole book reading teaching in junior high school can further improve students’ Chinese literacy,promote the professional growth of Chinese language teachers,and promote the development of Chinese language education,which is of great benefit.However,in actual Chinese language classrooms,the teaching of whole book reading still faces many complex problems.Therefore,exploring effective teaching models for whole book reading is a key foothold of this study.As a new teaching model,project-based learning is the result of optimizing multiple teaching models.It advocates for cultivating students’ comprehensive literacy as the purpose,creating situations as the foundation,and driving problems as the direction,fully mobilizing students’ learning motivation,enabling them to complete projects through practical experience and collaborative communication,and evaluating students’ diverse and colorful learning outcomes through diverse evaluation methods,It can fully leverage students’ own strengths and strengths,which is beneficial for improving their comprehensive literacy.Therefore,the author believes that project-based learning can become an effective model for teaching reading throughout the entire book.On the basis of previous theoretical and practical research,this article attempts to apply project-based learning to the teaching of reading the entire book "Morning Flowers and Evening Picks".Before conducting teaching practice,a questionnaire survey and interviews were conducted to understand the cognitive level of project-based learning among teachers and students,as well as the current situation of students’ reading of "Morning Flowers and Evening Picks".Based on this,project-based design was carried out for the entire book reading of "Morning Flowers and Evening Picks" and teaching practice was conducted in internship classes.Finally,strategies for project-based learning in the entire book reading teaching of "Morning Flowers and Evening Picks" were summarized: focusing on core knowledge and creating driving problems;Develop project plans and assign tasks to activities;Provide reading guidance and skillfully use task lists;Diversified evaluation based on student outcomes;Sort out the project process,summarize and reflect on it.The application of project-based learning in the reading of the entire book "Morning Flowers and Evening Picks" fully respects the subjectivity of students in reading.The practical results show that project-based learning for students to read the entire book "Morning Flowers and Evening Picks" can not only stimulate their reading interest and improve their reading enthusiasm,but also systematically understand the content of the article and promote the mastery of core knowledge.During the process of carrying out project activities,the active thinking and exploration of project team members promote students’ initiative in learning,while also cultivating their practical ability,independent exploration ability,and group cooperation and communication ability.The display of diverse project-based learning outcomes also fully leverages students’ personal strengths and strengths,comprehensively improving their overall literacy.
