In basketball, the ability to move in multiple directions is the key to connecting basketball techniques and tactics, and also the foundation for athletes to complete various technical actions. The strength of the ability to move in multiple directions directly affects the sports ability and competitive performance of basketball players. The ability to move in multiple directions depends on the athlete’s own strength, speed, and agility.Teenagers are in a critical period of physical development, and coaches and teachers should seize this period and conduct scientific and effective training for teenagers, which will achieve twice the result with half the effort. This study introduces elastic bands as a training tool to explore whether elastic band resistance training can effectively improve the multi-directional movement ability of 10-12 year old adolescents, providing a new perspective and design ideas for basketball specialized foot movement training courses. At the beginning of the experiment,I used the literature method to sort out the relevant data at home and abroad. Then we used the method of expert interview and questionnaire survey to send out questionnaires or interview relevant experts. Then, mathematical statistics were used to analyze the pre-test and post-test data of the subjects. This study mainly used the experimental method, selected the young students of the basketball club of Beijing No.8 Middle School Jingxi Campus as the experimental objects.First, the experimental group was determined to be scientific and reasonable, and then the experimental group was subjected to the elastic band resistance training intervention, while the control group was subjected to the training intervention of overcoming self-weight with bare hands. The data obtained from the two groups were used to conduct in-group paired sample T test and inter-group independent sample T test by SPSS software.Experimental results: After the experiment, the experimental group and the control group made progress in the multi-directional movement achievement test indicators; The paired sample T test in the group showed that the test scores of the experimental group were significantly different from those before the experiment(P<0.05).The control group had significant differences in the scores before and after the experiment except for the Illinois Sensitive Run Test and the Z-shaped Run Test, and the scores of the other three multi-directional movement achievement test tests had no significant differences before and after the experiment(P>0.05);Finally,after conducting independent sample t-tests between the experimental group and the control group, the results showed significant differences in all indicators(P<0.05).The research conclusions are as follows:1.Elastic band resistance training can improve the muscle strength, movement speed, and sensitivity of the legs, ankle joints, and other parts of adolescents aged 10-12,thereby effectively improving their multidirectional movement ability.2.Experiments have shown that both elastic band resistance training and routine training can effectively improve the Illinois Sensitive Run and Z-word Run test scores of adolescents aged 10-12,but the former improves significantly compared to the latter.3.Experiments have shown that elastic band resistance training has a better effect than regular training in improving the multi-directional mobility ability of adolescents aged 10-12.After the experiment, there was a statistically significant difference in the Illinois Sensitive Run,Z-word Run,Pro Test,Ballless Round the Pole Run,and Quadrangle Movement scores between the experimental class and the control class.
