The 800-meter run is a compulsory item used to evaluate the endurance quality of junior high school girls in the national physical fitness test and the physical education examination.The "National Student Physical Fitness and Health Survey" conducted by the Ministry of Education for six consecutive years shows that the endurance quality of junior high school girls in China is decreasing year by year.Therefore,to explore new ideas and new means of endurance practice for junior high school girls in order to improve their athletic performance has become the goal of the current endurance running teaching reform for junior high school girls.The traditional concept is that strength exercises will bring muscle hypertrophy,which is not conducive to the improvement of competitive ability in800 m running.However,in recent years,a large number of studies have shown that the role of strength has broken through the traditional meaning,and reasonable strength exercises can effectively improve the level of aerobic endurance.The middle school stage is a critical period for girls’ strength development,so how to scientifically screen the exercise content and optimize the design of exercise means according to their physical and mental development rules,combined with the project characteristics of 800 m running,is a widespread concern of current physical education teachers.Based on the research results,this study was conducted on the basis of physical education,sports anatomy,sports training and exercise physiology theories,literature,questionnaire,expert interview,Delphi method,experimental method and mathematical statistics.The experiment was conducted for 9 weeks.Students in both groups added certain means of strength exercises after the normal endurance running program.The experimental group used the strength exercise program designed to optimize the main running work muscles after screening,while the control group still used the regular strength exercise program of physical education class.The data of pre and post tests of spirometry,seated forward bending,50-meter run,standing long jump,800-meter run,sit-ups and forward throwing solid ball and training interest scale were tested by SPSS software to observe the differences of pre and post test indexes,so as to verify the effects of strength exercises of running work muscles on middle school girls’ 800-meter run performance and on physical fitness.Research results:1、In the teaching of endurance running for junior high school girls,although the strength exercises have attracted the teachers’ attention,the practice means are single,which is more difficult to improve the students’ interest in practice and the performance of800 m running is less satisfactory.2、Using expert interviews and questionnaires to screen out the main doing muscles of800 m running,and based on the main doing muscles,the practice means were determined by the Delphi method and the optimization plan was formulated.3、Based on the national physical fitness test index,the front throwing solid ball test was added.9 weeks after the strength exercise,the indexes of the experimental group and the control group were improved compared with those before the experiment.In the experimental group,all the indexes showed significant differences(P<0.01),while the control group showed significant differences(P<0.05)in lung capacity,50-meter run,sitting forward bend,and 800-meter run,and the control group did not show significant differences(P>0.05)in standing long jump,sit-ups,and forward throwing solid ball.Overall,the performance of the control group improved compared with the experimental group,but the improvement was not as great as that of the experimental group.4、After 9 weeks of strength exercises,students in the experimental group showed a highly significant difference in training interest compared to the pre-experimental group(P<0.01),and students in the control group showed a significant difference in training interest compared to the pre-experimental group(P<0.05).The study concluded that:1、 the optimized designed strength exercises are mainly for the upper limbs,core and lower limbs,and the targeted scientific arrangement of strength exercises increases the strength of some weak muscles,small joints and supporting organs,increases the coordinated force between muscles and improves the movement pattern,which can play a role in preventing sports injuries and can improve physical health.2、Optimized strength exercises can better improve the adaptability of cardiovascular function than conventional strength exercises,thus improving the running economy and promoting the improvement of 800 m running performance.3 、 the strength exercises optimized for the main doing muscles are not only an effective and feasible way to improve 800 m running performance,but also can improve students’ interest in practice.
