| In the era of big data,the Internet is producing thousands of data every moment.This has not only changed our personal way of life and thinking,but also put forward new requirements for school management.Faced with the massive and complex data generated in the school environment,how to mine the information hidden behind these data and give full play to the value of data is a difficult problem that must be solved in the school management.As leaders and administrators of schools,principals should reflect on how to realize scientific decision-making based on data in the context of big data,and use scientific and systematic decision-making methods to reach a high level of school management.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to understand the development level of data-driven decision-making of primary school principals in China and explore how to improve their data-driven decision-making capacity.In order to clarify the requirements and development strategies of data-driven decision-making capacity that primary school principals should have,and improve the capacity of principals to use data-driven decision-making in school management,this paper firstly sorted out domestic and foreign papers related to data-driven decision-making and management decision-making,and determined the research problems and significance.Secondly,the interview method is used to understand the school management decision-making situation of the principal.Thirdly,based on the theory of data-driven decision making and the decision-making knowledge in the field of management,the factors of data-driven decision making capacity of principals are extracted and the model of data-driven decision making capacity of principals is constructed.Secondly,the present situation and development level of principals’ data-driven decision-making were investigated by questionnaire survey.Finally,the paper proposes strategies and training programs to improve principals’ data-driven decision-making capacity,and provides references for principals’ data-driven decision-making capacity through specific training course examples.The main results of this study include four aspects:first,the decision-making situation of school management of primary school principals is determined.The decision-making situations of primary school principals are divided into three types:strategic decision-making,conventional management decision-making and crisis decision-making,and the three types of decision-making are further divided into eight decision-making situations.Secondly,a principal’s data-driven decision-making capacity model is constructed.This study constructs a data-driven decision making capacity model for principals from four dimensions:data literacy,basic cognition,decision integration and management application,and clarifies the data-driven decision making capacity that principals should possess.Thirdly,data-driven decision-making tools and methods are matched to support principals in different decision-making situations.This study matches appropriate decision-making tools and methods for principals’ strategic decision-making,conventional management decision-making and crisis decision-making,respectively,and demonstrates the use of tools with relevant examples to help principals make decisions.Fourth,from the government,society,schools and the principal itself four aspects put forward the principal data driven decision-making capacity promotion strategy,and a training program of five units and eight modules was developed.And finally a specific training course is designed with the module of "decision scheme conception" as an example,for subsequent principal capacity of the data driven decision-making to provide the reference. |
