With the popularization of compulsory education,more and more rural parents are paying more attention to their children’s learning situation.They devote all their energy to their children’s learning in order to receive better education,resulting in the phenomenon of accompanying reading.Parents who accompany students have also developed from their parents to grandparents.The research object of this article is the elderly who passively participate in the accompanying study army,defined as rural intergenerational parents.The age of next-generation parents is generally over 60 years old,and they are a relatively vulnerable group in society.In addition,accompanying reading also has its particularity.Due to the significant changes in their living environment and the difficulty in adapting to new social roles,these factors have led to many difficulties and difficulties they will encounter when accompanying reading.This group activity mainly uses qualitative research methods to analyze the living conditions,difficulties encountered in accompanying students,as well as the highlighted loss of ability and lack of social support of 10 parents in S County,Shuangyashan Prefecture,through a survey.The author attempts to apply the specialized methods and techniques of group work to the issue of accompanying rural separated parents,and evaluate its effectiveness during the implementation process to explore its role and possibility in the issue of accompanying rural separated parents.Based on the theory of social support,this study analyzes the needs of intergenerational parents in the process of accompanying reading.In response to the difficulties faced by intergenerational parents in accompanying reading,the empowerment theory is used to intervene in group work and carry out mutual aid groups.Interview and observation methods are used to evaluate the effectiveness of group work in intervening in the difficulties faced by intergenerational parents in accompanying reading.The conclusion drawn is as follows:Mutual aid groups can meet the psychological needs of next-generation parents,help them adapt to urban communities,and also meet their emotional needs.Group work can expand their interpersonal communication scope and help them build a new peer mutual aid network.After the group activities are completed,they will spontaneously form a mutual aid group,which can support and help each other in their future accompanying study life,It can improve their abilities and self-esteem.
