With the continuous development of rural economy and the cognition that the talents are becoming more and more important in today's society in China,many rural residents begin to pay attention to their children's education after solving the problem of food and clothing.In recent years due to the historical and economic factors,the educational foundation of rural areas is still far behind urban areas although the educational investment has increased continually in rural areas.Schools in rural areas are inferior to urban areas in the expenditure on education,hardware facilities,teachers,teaching environment and so on.At the beginning of the 21st century,owning to the Combination School Policy was put into practice,the number of the rural primary schools reduced by nearly sixty percent.The Combination School Policy integrated resources for rural education,but at the same time,it also brought great inconvenience to rural primary and secondary school students.In recent years,as the continuous strengthening of the effect of mobile population and opening-up education effect,it has brought a great environmental support to the rural children whose parents worked in the cities.Therefore,more and more rural families choose to be a companion into cities to their children in study so that they can offer their children superior education resources and supervise children's safety and learning.Based on Talcott Parsons' theory of means-purpose,this paper studies the phenomenon of rural parents into cities being a companion to their children in study and discusses how to make equal distribution of urban and education resources.This paper takes the village D,Wenxian,Henan Province for example,the method of case interview method is the main method and beginning with the target of the actors,the choice of means and the situation.The main body of the study consists of the following five parts:The first part offers an introduction of the atmosphere and characteristics of village D in which parents into cities being a companion to their children in study.Respectively,the reasons are analyzed from the village's location,economy,culture and the characteristic of parents into cities being a companion to their children in study.The second part explores the goals of parents into cities being a companion to their children in study.This part analyses the actors' ideal form which are mainly from the parents' choice of value,the expected goals,the conformist mentality,the definition of the parents who go to cities and are a companion to their children.The third part analyzes how the actors choose the means to be a companion to their children in study.This part analyses the parents' action which are mainly from the investment to their children's extracurricular remedial classes,dealing with their children's chores,the public relations strategies which are used to obtain school and teachers' contact.The fourth part explores the social environment of the actors that parents are a companion to their children in study.This external influences to the action are caused by the three structural factors which are the social effects of mobile population,opening-up education and the allocation of educational resources.The fifth part are conclusions and discussion.The potential conclusions which may be caused wrongly by the action of being a companion to children in study are reached.And then,the reasonable allocation of educational resources between urban and rural places is discussed and analyzed.At last,strategies are put forward accordingly.
