The new curriculum standard points out that primary school mathematics activities,especially sitting in the classroom teaching should be able to stimulate students’ interest in learning,can mobilize the enthusiasm of students to learn mathematics,trigger the thinking of mathematical knowledge,mathematical problems,encourage students to make exploratory discoveries and creative thoughts on mathematical problems.It can be seen that interest plays a very important role in the learning process of students.When students have interest in learning,they will have the desire to learn actively and are willing to spend more time and energy on learning.Cultivating students’ interest in learning can greatly improve the classroom efficiency and students’ acceptance of knowledge,In learning to achieve twice the result with half the effort,so as to enhance the confidence of learning mathematics.In this paper,combined with the exploration of learning motivation by Biggs and Moose and the current situation of primary school students’ math learning motivation,the math learning motivation is divided into four parts:the cognitive motivation of math subject,the social motivation of math learning,the auxiliary driving force of math learning and the forced motivation of math learning.Mathematics learning motivation guides mathematics learning,promotes and maintains mathematics learning and leads mathematics learning to the internal psychological process of mathematics learning,which is closely related to the need of mathematics learning,the understanding and belief of the importance of mathematics learning,the interest in mathematics learning,the hobby of mathematics learning,mathematics learning habits and other psychological factors.Through questionnaire survey and interviews with some teachers and students,we reach the following conclusions:First of all,In the upper grades of primary school students,the learning motivation of subject cognition and social motivation is high,while the learning motivation of subsidiary drive and forced motivation is not.Secondly,There is a significant gender difference in the subject cognition of mathematics learning motivation between boys and girls in upper primary school.Boys have stronger mathematics learning motivation than girls.There were no significant differences in social motivation,subordinate drive and forced motivation.The reasons for the weak learning motivation of senior primary school students are as follows:Firstly,students themselves lack the desire to pursue new knowledge,and they have low self-efficacy.Secondly,the balance between social motivation and self-drive motivation is not enough.Third,the forced force is significant,and the learning pressure needs to be transformed into power.Therefore,we can improve the learning motivation of students from the following five aspects:Firstly,create teaching problem situation to stimulate students’ interest in mathematics learning.Secondly,strengthen home-school communication and family companionship education to create a good family atmosphere..Thirdly,make reasonable use of peer competition and cooperative learning to cultivate students’ creativity.Fourthly,attach importance to the principal position of students and guide them to scientific and positive attribution.Finally,establish a scientific view of academic evaluation and cultivate students’ intrinsic motivation of mathematics learning.
