| With the rapid development of postgraduate education,the UK has established a quality assurance system for postgraduate education with the core of independent guarantee of universities,and postgraduate education has achieved excellent results.The quality assurance system of postgraduate education in China relies on external policy guarantee to a large extent,and the internal motivational incentive function of universities has not been given full play.On the basis of analyzing the whole process of the internal quality assurance system of graduate education in British universities,this paper taps its characteristics and advantages,and proposes measures suitable for the construction and improvement of the internal quality assurance system of graduate education in Chinese universities according to the actual situation of Chinese universities.Using literature research method,case study method and comparative research method,this paper collects and analyzes data on the relevant contents of the internal quality assurance system of graduate education in British universities and discusses its main contents in detail.The development process of the internal quality assurance system of graduate education in British universities is demonstrated from the comprehensive autonomy in the formation stage to the external supervision-oriented in the development stage,and finally a relatively perfect quality assurance system of graduate education with both internal and external supervision is formed.The reasons for its development are explored from three aspects: the needs of modern economic and social development in the UK,the impetus of external assessment and review activities,and then the internal demands for quality improvement of graduate education.The composition and operation of the internal quality assurance system of graduate education in UK universities are introduced in detail from the aspects of quality management system,quality assurance process and quality assurance evaluation.Three universities in the UK,Oxford University,Cambridge University and University College London,which are at the top of the QS World University Rankings(Quacquarelli Symonds)in 2023,are selected as the case studies of the quality assurance system of postgraduate education for the whole process.Finally,based on the characteristics of the quality assurance system of postgraduate education within the British universities and the specific situation of the quality assurance system of postgraduate education in China,the insights of building specialized quality assurance institutions and personnel,building quality culture within universities,using diversified quality assurance means and paying attention to the participation of postgraduate quality assurance subjects are proposed,with a view to improving the quality assurance system of postgraduate education within the universities in China The purpose is to provide reference for the improvement and development of the quality assurance system of postgraduate education in China. |
