| As China takes active measures to tackle the issue of population aging as a long-term strategic task, how to accelerate the construction of a health-promoting environment has become a research topic of great value.Developing environments and healthy living conditions that are suitable for the elderly has become one of the main measures to solve the aging population problem, and has become a hot research topic in various fields in recent years. However, public sports spaces, which are directly related to people’s health and health behaviors, have not been deeply studied as a separate entity. They mostly exist in the form of a single indicator in the field of built environment and health-related areas. Therefore, this study explores the relationship between the perception of public sports spaces and the health-related life of elderly people in the community,as well as the specific impact pathway, starting from the perspective of public sports spaces. This study focuses on exploring the impact of perception of public sports space on the health-related quality of life among 2645 elderly people in communities in Shandong Province.Based on the social ecological theory, environmental behavior theory, behavioral decision theory, and relevant literature, physical exercise activities were selected as the mediating variable, and digital integration was seen as the moderating variable to construct a theoretical model of how perception of public sports space affects the health-related quality of life of elderly people in communities.Various research methods, including literature review, questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics, and comparative analysis, were used to collect data on perception of public sports space, physical exercise activities, degree of digital integration, and health-related quality of life. The hypotheses were tested through empirical analysis. The research results showed that there were significant age differences in public sports space perception, physical exercise activities, and the health-related quality of life of elderly people in the community. There was a significant positive correlation among public sports space perception, physical exercise activities, and the health-related quality of life of elderly people in the community.Only light physical exercise activities such as walking played a mediating role in the relationship between public sports space perception and the health-related quality of life of elderly people in the community, and this mediating effect varied across different age groups of the elderly.Digital integration played a moderating role in the relationship between public sports space perception and the psychological health of elderly people in the community.Public sports space perception can promote the health-related quality of life of elderly people in the community.Public sports space perception can not only directly promote the health-related quality of life of elderly people in the community but also indirectly promote their health-related quality of life through light physical exercise activities such as walking.Digital technology can effectively enhance the role of public sports space perception in the psychological health of elderly people in the community. This study provides empirical evidence for improving the health-related quality of life of elderly people in the community and provides useful references for the planning and design of public sports spaces and the formulation of policies for elderly health management. It has positive significance for promoting the sustainable and high-quality development of the aging industry. |
